Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY

Tax Solution Implementation
•    Interpret and apply the agreed global tax design framework to country-specific scenarios across multiple jurisdictions
•    Make informed decisions on tax treatment where design documentation requires interpretation or country nuances create ambiguity
•    Serve as the subject matter expert for indirect tax (VAT/GST) and withholding tax requirements within the P2P process
•    Support configuration and testing of tax determination logic within SAP Ariba and integrated tax engines

Country-Specific Tax Requirements
•    Analyze country-level tax regulations and determine how they map to the global design
•    Identify gaps or conflicts between the standard design and local tax requirements
•    Work with local tax teams and finance stakeholders to validate country-specific tax treatments
•    Document country variations and exceptions to the global tax model

Stakeholder Collaboration
•    Partner with SAP Ariba functional leads, technical teams, and integration specialists to ensure tax requirements are properly implemented
•    Liaise with in-country tax teams, shared services centers, and centers of excellence to gather requirements and validate solutions
•    Communicate tax implications clearly to non-tax stakeholders including procurement, AP, and finance operations teams
•    Escalate design issues or significant deviations requiring governance review

Quality Assurance & Compliance
•    Review test scenarios to ensure comprehensive coverage of tax determination logic
•    Validate that withholding tax calculations, tax code assignments, and reporting outputs meet regulatory requirements
•    Support user acceptance testing with country tax and finance teams
•    Ensure e-invoicing and tax reporting requirements are appropriately addressed in the solution design

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
•    Maintain clear documentation of tax design decisions, country-specific interpretations, and rationale
•    Develop training materials and guidance for end users on tax-related processes
•    Support change management activities to ensure smooth adoption of new tax processes

Qualifications
Tax Expertise
•    Strong technical knowledge of indirect taxes (VAT/GST) with exposure to multiple international tax regimes
•    Understanding of withholding tax requirements in a cross-border context
•    Familiarity with e-invoicing and tax compliance trends (clearance models, real-time reporting)
•    Ability to interpret tax legislation and apply it to P2P business processes

SAP & Technology Experience
•    Experience with SAP Ariba modules, particularly in tax determination workflows
•    Understanding of P2P processes including requisitioning, PO management, goods receipt, and invoice processing
•    Exposure to SAP ERP tax configuration is advantageous
•    Familiarity with BRFplus or similar rule engines is a plus

Implementation Skills
•    Proven experience in global tax transformation or ERP implementation programs
•    Ability to translate tax requirements into functional specifications for technical teams
•    Experience working in a large-scale, multi-country implementation environment
•    Strong problem-solving skills with ability to make pragmatic decisions under time pressure

Collaboration & Communication
•    Excellent stakeholder management across tax, finance, procurement, and IT functions
•    Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax audiences
•    Experience working with geographically dispersed teams across multiple time zones
•    Comfortable navigating matrix organizations and influencing without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications
•    Professional tax qualification (CTA, ADIT, or equivalent) or accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA)
•    Experience in financial services or similarly complex, highly regulated industries
•    Prior exposure to SAP S/4HANA or SAP datasphere integration
•    Knowledge of change management principles in transformation programs
•    Experience with Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies
