Key Responsibilities
Strategy*
o Drive the WRB Product Accounting agenda for Wealth and Retail Banking products, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, P&L accounting and product financial reporting.
o Identify and address risks to P&L accuracy, product accounting outcomes, balance sheet substantiation and external reporting disclosures.
o Strengthen governance, control and reporting frameworks through standardised processes, disciplined review routines and clear accountability.
o Review product financials, variances and key drivers to provide commercially meaningful commentary for senior management and stakeholders.
o Promote continuous improvement in product accounting processes, controls and analytics to support scalable, accurate and decision-useful reporting.
Business*
o Build strong commercial understanding of WRB business models, product economics, customer propositions, market drivers and risk characteristics.
o Partner with Business Finance, Product teams, Country Finance and GCFO India Controllers to translate product performance, revenue trends and P&L movements into clear senior-management commentary.
o Support revenue recognition accuracy by understanding product features, fee structures, amortisation, valuation drivers, accounting treatment and relevant IFRS requirements.
o Use analytics and product knowledge to identify unusual revenue, cost, margin or balance sheet trends and ensure timely investigation and remediation.
Processes*
o Partner with Business Finance, Product, Country Finance and GCFO India Controllers to deliver accurate WRB product accounting, reporting and financial control outcomes.
o Run month-end and quarter-end reviews covering P&L accuracy, revenue recognition, product financials, balance sheet substantiation and variance commentary.
o Ensure reconciliations, substantiation, journals, adjustments and key reporting controls are completed on time, with exceptions escalated and remediated promptly.
o Embed Group policies, financial control standards, ACG requirements and governance expectations into day-to-day processes.
o Support risk reporting, process simplification, automation, transformation and new product/change reviews to strengthen control sustainability and reporting efficiency.
People & Talent*
o Lead by example and promote a culture of ownership, accuracy, transparency and timely escalation across product accounting and financial control activities.
o Build capability in WRB product accounting, revenue recognition, commercial analysis, risk management and governance through coaching, knowledge sharing and structured development.
o Set clear expectations for quality of review, business commentary, control evidence and stakeholder engagement, and provide timely feedback aligned to role objectives
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management*
o Interpret WRB product financial information to identify accounting, reporting, revenue recognition, valuation, operational and control risks. Ensure that appropriate controls, reconciliations, substantiation, escalation mechanisms and remediation actions are in place to protect P&L accuracy, reporting integrity and compliance with Group standards.
Governance*
o Ensure appropriate governance is followed across product accounting, reporting, transformation and change initiatives. Represent WRB Product Accounting in relevant governance forums, support prioritisation of control and reporting enhancements, and ensure changes to products, systems, processes or operating models are assessed for accounting, revenue recognition, P&L, risk and control impacts.

Other Responsibilities*
Embed Here for Good and the Group’s brand and values across WRB Product Accounting. Perform responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures, including support for product governance, accounting policy implementation, financial control remediation, audit readiness, reporting transformation and other activities required to maintain accurate, well-controlled and commercially relevant product financials.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Minimum 8 years of experience in financial control, product control, product accounting, operational risk.
Experience in Wealth and Retail Banking product accounting, revenue recognition, P&L review or balance sheet substantiation is preferred.
CA / CWA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Strong understanding of product accounting, IFRS reporting principles, revenue recognition, journal controls, reconciliations and financial control frameworks.
Exposure to SAP and PSGL reporting tools and finance data environments.
Commercial understanding of wealth and retail banking products, including structured products, derivatives, equities, fixed income, managed investments, insurance, cards, mortgages and deposits.
Ability to interpret product financials, identify P&L and balance sheet drivers, investigate variances and communicate business insights clearly.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, including experience engaging senior management, country teams, product teams, finance, risk and audit stakeholders.
Experience in implementing, monitoring and improving financial control, governance, risk management and audit remediation activities.
TRAINING
Post-graduation / CA / CFA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent, with experience in finance, product accounting, financial control, risk management and reporting.
