Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of financial/management reports to different key internal and external stakeholders for the Bank. These reports are to be timely, accurate and prepared in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards and the Group policies. The individual needs to proactively engage with various stakeholders, particularly with GFS (Global Financial Services) to ensure effective execution of the regular reporting deliverables.
 
Below is a summary of key responsibilities:
  • As the Financial  Reporting Manager, you will lead and manage the reporting team, ensuring the timely and precise delivery of both financial and management reports. Your role is crucial in securing prompt approval from the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), which is essential for maintaining the organization’s financial integrity and ensuring transparency in all financial dealings.
  • Your responsibilities include providing consistent, thorough, and precise financial analysis accompanied by detailed reporting. This aspect of the role is vital for facilitating informed decision-making processes at Standard Chartered Bank Botswana, ensuring all stakeholders are well-informed and equipped with the necessary insights to make sound business decisions 
  • You will be responsible for managing and meticulously reviewing all local regulatory submissions, and ensure outsourced country Record-to-Report and Requisition-to-Pay activities are executed on a monthly basis.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the financial statements and the annual report in accordance with statutory, regulatory, and other requirements, and in accordance with group standards, procedures and timetables.
  • Maintaining robust general ledger controls is fundamental to the role. This involves ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliations while also serving as the Chief Hub Liaison Officer for all reporting matters. Your ability to collaborate with various departments to support business objectives and strategies will be vital in this position.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in financial control, reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Excellent knowledge of  Local regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
