Job Summary

The Associate Director will lead the Micro Automation initiative within CIB Operations, driving the identification, design, and deployment of low-complexity, high-impact automation solutions. This role is pivotal in scaling the initiative beyond its initial proof-of-concept phase, ensuring strategic alignment, stakeholder engagement, and sustained delivery across hub locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategy
Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the Data Management within CIB Ops.  

Business
Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates. 

Strategic Leadership:

Own the end-to-end engagement model for Micro Automation across CIB Ops.
Curate and prioritize the automation backlog in alignment with business goals and funding cycles.
Drive adoption of design principles and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability 

Stakeholder Engagement:

Socialize the Micro Automation capability across functions and geographies.
Build cross-functional partnerships with operations, technology, and finance teams.
Represent the initiative in governance forums and funding reviews

Execution Oversight:

Lead a fusion squad comprising operations and tech resources to deliver automation use cases
Oversee process walkthroughs, requirement gathering, and solution deployment.
Ensure timely delivery of Wave 1 and subsequent automation waves, targeting 15 HC (~$288K) in annualized savings

Innovation & Culture Building:

Promote a mindset of simplification, experimentation, and innovation.
Identify “hidden gems” in Microsoft 365 and other tools to unlock automation opportunities

People & Talent
Mentor and lead a team of data analysts, data scientists, and performance management professionals, ensuring skill development and knowledge sharing.

Risk Management
The ability to interpret CIB processes and data, identifying opportunity for automation of processes and generation of key insights from data, whilst identifying key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

Governance
Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Hive’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls when delivering reporting and insights to business and operations, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Qualifications

•    10+ years of experience in operations, transformation, or automation roles within financial services.
•    Proven track record in leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable outcomes.
•    Strong understanding of productivity tools (Excel, Outlook), workflow automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate), and task mining techniques.
•    Experience in stakeholder management across senior levels and global teams.
