Job Description: 

Job Summary

To process / manage the operations and functions of CCIB, Business Banking and Wealth & Retail Banking activities / product; ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services to customers and meeting objectives set by the Group using available resources allocated while maintaining operational risk to an accepted level.


•    Responsible for the management and delivery at the desired service standards of WRB Operations at SC GBS supporting various countries. 
•    To perform the above functions at the highest standards and yet strive to be customer focused, cost effective and error free.
•    To ensure implementation of any new processing platforms or transaction processing systems for the bank, ensuring the project’s rollout success and relevance to the business agenda.
•    To help the business in the area of procedure mapping and documentation for Operations activities, and also to review the processes with a view to reengineer or streamline it to put in place a better workflow or practice.
•    To have an oversight of Operations unit in the area of operational risk assessment/control and ensure continued compliance to good practices and regulatory requirements. To contribute to a compliance culture on key laws, regulations and Group standards in Wealth & Retail Banking and at the same time, ensuring adequate mechanisms and prompt reporting of breaches to relevant Risk Forums and Legal & Compliance unit.
•    To drive excellence in Customer Experience in all customer touch points within Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Core Delivery 
•    Capacity Management, work force management, Productivity and Utilisation including load balancing 
•    Delivery against agreed service standards (TAT, Accuracy, Referrals) including all financial settlements to all external entities.
•    Ensure accounting accuracy, reconciliations, across client life cycle of financials and transacting 
•    Deepen end to end digital capabilities from Multi touch to single touch to zero touch processing 

Cost Management
•    Monitor cost trends / unit cost and identify opportunities for reducing the same through automation and other initiatives
•    Monitor and track margin trends and maintain at optimal levels at all times
•    Futuristic estimation of costs and provide budget/forecast inputs

Transformation & Service excellence
•    Enable and encourage continuous improvement initiatives with STP capability transformation of process
•    Support and lead change initiatives and provide feedback for change proposals
•    Deliver sustainable cost saves and service levels on par with or superior to competition

Leadership
•    Set strategic goals including Aspirational goals and guide teams for achieving results
•    Support growth and development opportunities for talent management and retention
•    Engage key stakeholders and support functions for strategic initiatives and transformation

People and Talent 
•    Ensuring right-skilling and Cross Skilling among team members and training /certification for specific roles
•    Enabling a conducive environment for people including effective engagement 
•    Empowering with appropriate delegated authorities

Risk Management
•    Proactive identification, preventive controls and mitigation of key process / operational risks
•    Strong detective controls and continuous learning and fixing from risk incidents
•    Ensuring timely reporting of risk items as per the Group Risk Management Framework 
•    Drive risk management initiatives across the unit resulting in minimal or zero breaches and zero regulatory breaches whether data related or others 
•    Ensuring adherence to all Group Policies and Procedures and adequate training to staff to ensure compliance at all times
•    Ensuring business continuity strategies are in place and tested at regular intervals as per standards agreed with country stake holders
•    Approving BAU Process related documents (DOI) excluding New process approval and Risk assessment template approval.
•    Ensure Risk Assessment template is filled and signed off by Head of Unit before BAU adoption of any new process or amendment of an existing process.

•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders
•    Global WRB COO, CMPS SG & HK Servicing and Transacting, and teams 
•    WRB COOs, Country Onboarding and Servicing & Transacting heads and Region heads
•    Peer Unit Heads in GBS India, Malaysia and China
•    Support Function leads (HR/Finance/Tech/Training/Operational Risk) in GBS

Other Responsibilities


Domain knowledge and execution focus 
•    Strong understanding of banking products both deposit and lending products, mobile, digital and cards settlement standards, dispute management, client master and static data at client and product level, business model, service model, client, market, and segment requirements, and all associated core platforms, product and process standards, strong execution focus and operating controls 

Business strategy and financials linkage 
•    Understand business strategy, value proposition, client value proposition, income, revenue, cost, risk optimisation, capital implications, including risk return reward ratio

Risk Management, governance, and controls
•    Deep understanding of processes, processing platforms, operations, service and technology, and ability to leverage on technology and automation, and effective risk management and governance controls including effective compliance controls, oversight 

Strong accounting and tax compliance expertise
•    Role requires deep expertise of accounting intricacies, reconciliation and validation controls both transaction and life cycle related, product control and revenue accounting areas including understanding of roles and responsibilities in relation to financial control policy and internal, external audit requirements. 

Leverage and deepen digital capabilities 
•    Strong digital focus and understanding of digital capabilities to deepen penetration of digital capabilities and straight through processing, both zero touch and single touch 

Strong team management, people management 
•    Strong people management, performance management, talent management and collaborative mindset

Process Simplification 
•    Strong ability to drive process simplification through six sigma principles and minimize/eliminate re-works.

Experiences, Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting or any related field.
  • Good Product knowledge FXMM (Foreign Exchange & Money Market), OTC derivative
  • Good analytical skills with exposure to:Taxation calculation and regulatory requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Experience across Retail and Wealth segments
  • Systems & Tools - Trading platforms (Murex, Sabre, Blade)/ Microsoft Excel (Macro/ V-Lookup) 
  • At least 5 - 7 experience in middle office control, credit risk or market risk
