Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java 17, frame works likes Spring Boot or Quarkus, and microservices architecture. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that are robust, scalable, and efficient.
Experience in developing and deploying cloud-native applications, particularly with a focus on Function as a Service (FaaS) and Dev-in-a-box solutions, will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 17 and Spring Boot / Quarkus.
- Implement microservices architecture to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Integrate with databases using ORM frameworks and ensure efficient DB connectivity.
- Develop and maintain messaging services using JMS and Solace.
- Ensure seamless API connectivity using platforms such as Kong or Axway.
- Manage project dependencies and build processes using Maven.
- Collaborate with the team using Git for version control.
- Containerize applications using Docker for consistent deployment.
- Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD pipelines and project management.
- Deploy and manage applications on OpenShift and AWS.
- Implement service virtualization for testing and development.
- Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit.
- Conduct integration testing to ensure seamless interaction between components.
- Document APIs using Swagger.
- Perform performance testing and scripting to ensure application efficiency.
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in Java 17.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot / Quarkus or similar frameworks
- Expertise in microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of ORM frameworks and database connectivity.
- Experience with JMS (Java Message Service) and Solace.
- Familiarity with API connectivity platforms such as Kong or Axway.
- Proficient in Maven for project management.
- Experience with Git for version control.
- Knowledge of Docker for containerization.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD and project management.
- Experience with OpenShift and AWS.
- Knowledge of service virtualization.
- Proficiency in JUnit for unit testing.

- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Banking domain knowledge.
- Experience with other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud.
- Experience in developing and deploying cloud-native applications, with a focus on Function as a Service (FaaS) and Dev-in-a-box solutions.
- Familiarity with other programming languages and frameworks.
- Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Java Backend Engineer or similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of SSL certificate management.
- Ready to work on both development and project management.
- Contribute to creation of standards & frameworks for the project
- Should have the capability to handle more than one project at a same time.
- Prepare architecting solutions document, technical audits for the project
- Prepare High/Low level technical design document.
- Learn and understand relevant application functional & technical architecture and use the same effectively during development
- Follow documented SDLC life cycle as per quality management standards
- Participate in Requirement gathering and solution meetings
- Track overall development and project management
- Support developers by providing technical assistance and improve technical competency levels amongst team members
- Design modules based on Technical specs.
- Implement best practices
