Job Description: 

Job Summary

As the Lead of Digital Fraud Risk, you will design, implement, and oversee the fraud risk management framework across all digital channels for wealth banking, including core payments, cards, transactions, and lending. You will collaborate closely with the Regional Head of Fraud Risk Management and other country stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of fraud risk management processes and activities. You will mentor by example, fostering a culture grounded in values, setting clear expectations for your team, and working collaboratively with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Effectively and efficiently ensure Retail Clients/CCIB Fraud Risk activities and processes aligned with the country's business strategy.
  • Oversee fraud risk by assisting businesses in implementing industry-leading tools and processes to minimize fraud losses while upholding customer charter goals and values
  • Develop and construct fraud detection rules using statistical models to identify and prevent various fraudulent activities across multiple markets.
  • Evaluate extensive user behavioral data to detect abnormal patterns and identify emerging fraud trends.
  • Build scalable and real-time data pipelines to support fraud detection efforts.
  • Evaluate and test the effectiveness of fraud prevention models, continuously monitoring and updating their performance.
  • Identify and recommend industry best practices for fraud risk infrastructure and management for adoption within the country.
  • Ensure that gross and residual fraud risks are clearly understood and agreed upon with respective business heads. Embed and communicate the Fraud Risk Management framework effectively across the Retail Customers segment.
  • Implement effective fraud risk management strategies across products and channels in a timely manner.
  • Confirm that gross and residual fraud risks are acknowledged and agreed with business leadership.
  • Support the identification, engagement, and retention of high-quality Fraud Risk Management professionals at the country level.
  • Define and monitor job descriptions and goals for direct reports, providing feedback and recognition based on their performance.
  • Ensure that team member in critical roles possess the necessary skills and qualifications, with effective supervision to mitigate risks.
  • Encourage and promote an engaged training and learning environment to enhance excellence in risk management, awareness, behaviors, and accountability.
  • Ensure the Fraud Risk function in accordance with the established Fraud Risk Framework, Policies, and Standards; ensure issues are identified, escalated, and resolved appropriately.
  • Establish good connections with relevant business line governance, risk, and control committees to ensure effective monitoring, tracking, and governance of fraud risk.
  • Drive integration of the Fraud Risk Framework and associated Policies and Standards into business lines, utilizing them in the bank's ongoing governance processes.

Qualifications

•  Education: Graduate Degree in Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Law, Business Management    
•  Certificates: CISSP, CFE, CRISC (Preferred)

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience (8-10+ years) in fraud risk management within Digital Banking, including fraud investigation and risk assessment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Retail and Business Banking processes, products, associated risks, threats, and internal control mechanisms.
  • Solid foundation in data analytics skills with proficiency in Python, R, Tableau, SQL, and Databricks.
  • Solid understanding of the payments ecosystem, encompassing various payment types.
  • Highly technical capability to support teams guiding integrations for both mobile and web platforms.
  • Sound knowledge of application and network security principles.
  • Ability to conduct detailed data evaluation and deliver in-depth insights.
  • Extensive knowledge in fraud risks affecting both consumer and wholesale banking sectors.
  • Thorough understanding of diverse fraud products and their functionalities.
  • A balanced combination of technical knowledge and stakeholder management is essential for this role.
  • Proficient in stakeholder engagement across multiple levels within the Bank.
  • Good grasp of various control measures and their role in establishing layered defenses.
  • Effective presentation skills to educate and train audiences at different organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated influence, negotiation, and collaboration abilities, with experience working in multi-layered, multicultural, and multi-time zone environments.
  • Competence in collecting and evaluating data, establishing facts, and providing clear recommendations both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to collaborate with diverse departments across the Bank, including risk and business units.
  • Excellent oral, written, and overall communication skills.
