•    Hive Head CST Operations and Technology support is a critical leadership role accountable for the end-to-end Operational and Strategic oversight of its global technology support of its global ICS Technology support and operations functions. This role is pivotal in driving end-to-end service excellent, ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvements across multiple domains. 

•    As a production custodian, it is expected to ensure that the design, planning and execution of delivery is aligned with the Bank’s governance, change delivery standards and Technology strategy and standards. The role works closely with the Sub-domain Tech leads, Chief Product Owners, Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Business Analysts, PMOs and Scrum Masters throughout the delivery lifecycle.  

Key Responsibilities

As the Operational leader for key production chapters – including IAM (Identity and Access Management), CyOps, PAN-ICS Testing, KTLO Automation, Estate Management and Infrastructure maintenance and Technology Service management, the role will be responsible for enabling operational rigor, situational intelligence, and enterprise resilience through people, process and platform integration. 
The Hive Head CST Operations and Technology support has a broad scope, requiring a modern leadership approach, including delegating to and trusting the Production chapter Leads and Scrum Masters, supporting them their ownership of and accountability of production stability. This includes:
•    Production Support and SRE teams which provides command and control (L1); specialist support (L2) and SRE teams which provides continuous improvement covering across Cyber Security applications, infrastructure, Service Management
•    Production Engineering will drive the strategic Tooling and Automation agenda across ICS Security estate focussing on production automation, observability, and self-service for consumers of Cyber Security services. This will support the key agenda of the CST strategy, around automation, efficiency and reducing costs & driving adoption of reducing manual toil.
•    Provide Testing services across PAN ICS
•    Release Engineering responsible for full end to end testing across ICS BAU and Programme organisations ensuring alignment and compliance to mandatory testing standards, controls and policies, as well as driving testing automation agenda ensuring cost effective and on-demand testing solutions and services. 
•    Contributing to the development of Product strategies and roadmaps
•    Partnering with the CPOs and Hive POs to prioritise, plan and deliver on Project roadmaps.
•    eSDLC compliance and assurance processes including Quality Assurance, Testing and TPS
•    Estate Management including managing roadmaps, obsolescence, security patch compliance and deployments.
•    Interactions with 1st line incident response teams, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensuring fix resolution is prioritized in the Product Backlog

•    In conjunction with the Product Owner, manage the unified engineering backlog in line with guidelines for SRE Keep the Lights On (KTLO), Error and Innovation budgets. 
•    Ensuring effective engagement between Product Owners and Level 2 Support teams to resolve live incidents and close out RCAs
•    Managing innovation and change deployments.
•    Driving Production governance through practicing with a growth mindset, continuous improvement through retrospection and servant-leadership.
•    This role is directly responsible for maintaining Production stability across PAN ICS providing end-to-end service excellent, ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvements across multiple domains.

Strategy
•    Drive continuous evolution and production deployment of Cyber Security capabilities covering the global estate of applications and infrastructure assets supporting all business units and countries in the Group.
•    Drive our stability, resilience, security, automation and standardization agenda across the production and operations estate, reducing cost, improving efficiency and increasing adoption of Cyber Security services.
•    Define, own and implement the Cyber Security strategy to re-engineer, simplify & automate our security capabilities, processes and focus on building integration into the pipeline, resulting in smaller, engineering-focused teams leveraging SRE principals.
•    Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
•    Implement the ICS strategy around service, risk, cost, people and security
•    Act as a trusted technical advisor to the POs, CPOs and CST Head.
•    Manage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders: CST, Chapter leadership, CPOs, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Technology, Technology Providers and Security Software vendors.
•    Key contributor for the ICS technology strategy as part of the Build and Maintain Operating Model

The Hive Head CST Operations and Technology support will be responsible for adopting and driving the adoption of new ways of working as we transition away from Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-based engineering and support towards Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)-based full stack engineering. This will encompass adopting and executing CST strategies relating to
•    Speed2Market Production implementations
•    System & Software Engineering Certification

Business
•    Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
•    Ensure consistent service & availability of global Cyber Security Technology estate in line with the SLAs and OLAs.
•    Implement service improvement programmes to reduce avoidable incidents, drive down service recovery times, automate manual processes, and generally improve the stability of applications.
•    Manage support and operational costs and drive automation and operational efficiencies to manage costs within budget.
•    Responsible for resilience, obsolescence and balancing of application/platform health with new feature delivery.
•    Manage teams’ capacity planning and allocation in cooperation with the Chief Product Owner.

Processes
•    Ensure compliance with the Application support process within the domain
•    Ensure compliance with the Operations processes withing the domain
•    Ensure compliance with the Build & Maintain Engineering processes
•    Ensure vendor relationships are appropriately managed and deliver value

•    Prepare production outputs and their planning in alignment to eSDLC standards. 
•    Support continuous improvement to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness across the Hives and key processes associated with the Sub-Domain.

•    Provide technology thought leadership, inspire and retain engineering talents by developing and nurturing an extensive internal and external network of technologists.
•    Create a pipeline of technical talent, identifying high potential individuals and helping to create mechanisms to recognize and develop the talent pipeline by working with Coaches and Chapter Leads.

Qualifications

Requirements & Skills

  • Excellent people management, mentoring skills with the ability to train and motivate cross cultural teams in optimizing their abilities focusing on their career aspirations.
  • Proven experience in co-ordination of many dependencies and multiple demanding stakeholders in a complex, large-scale deployment environment.
  • Excellent ability to manage and work alongside multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of the businesses, markets and operations of Standard Chartered Bank and the policies, procedures and processes through which financial crime risks are addressed throughout the Group 
  • Domain Experience: Technology Operations, Production Support and CyberSec exposure.
  • Significant experience with Programme and Project Management
  • Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: IT related tertiary qualification
  • Licences and Certifications/accreditations: CISM, CISSP, ITIL v3 Foundation, Security or Risk relate
