Job Summary

The Lead Engineer is the technical authority for modern endpoint engineering, responsible for engineering strategy, architecture, controls, and delivery excellence across Microsoft Intune, Windows 11 and macOS endpoint apps, security policy deployment, application packaging automation using Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines, and endpoint analytics (Nexthink).

This role combines deep hands-on expertise with engineering governance, ensuring endpoint platforms are secure, scalable, automated, and operationally robust. The Senior lead technical direction, standards, and complex problem resolution while partnering with Security, Engineering, and Operations to deliver measurable improvements in compliance, stability, and end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

1) Engineering Leadership (Intune / Endpoint Platform)

  • Act as the Senior - Lead Engineer / Design Authority for Microsoft Intune across Windows 11 and macOS endpoints, setting technical direction and enforcing engineering standards.
  • Define and govern platform architecture for device configuration, compliance, and endpoint security controls delivered via Intune.
  • Drive technical alignment with enterprise Workplace and Security strategies, ensuring endpoint controls are consistent and scalable across the fleet.

2) Application Packaging Engineering & Automation (ADO Pipelines)

  • Own engineering standards and tooling for enterprise AppLocker/App Control for Business
  • Lead implementation of automation-first AppLocker policies, endpoint analytics, packaging and deployment, including building and maintaining Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve quality and repeatability.
  • Champion scripting-driven engineering (e.g., PowerShell) to automate security policy, packaging workflows, validation, deployment readiness checks, and operational tasks.

3) Security Policies & Compliance Deployment via Intune

  • Provide technical leadership for endpoint security controls deployed through Intune, ensuring policy design is secure-by-default, testable, and auditable.
  • Partner with Cyber Security / Risk stakeholders to implement and sustain compliance posture, including continuous improvement based on incidents, audit outcomes, and control gaps.
  • Sponsor preventative engineering practices that reduce exposure and improve endpoint resilience (policy governance, standard baselines, controlled rollouts).

4) Endpoint Analytics & Digital Experience (Nexthink)

  • Lead engineering adoption and operationalisation of Nexthink to improve endpoint visibility, performance insights, and proactive issue detection.
  • Establish analytics-driven operating rhythms: define key signals, dashboards, and actionable insights that translate into engineering improvements and reduced incidents.

5) Enterprise Scale Operations & Problem Management (L3/L4)

  • Provide escalation leadership for complex endpoint / Intune incidents, driving root cause analysis and permanent fixes (automation, standardisation, systemic remediation).
  • Ensure platform reliability for large-scale environments through engineering hygiene: monitoring, performance checks, release governance, and technical debt reduction.

6) Engineering Governance, Standards, and Documentation

  • Define and enforce engineering standards (packaging conventions, pipeline controls, policy release gates, rollback strategy, documentation/runbooks).
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including configuration guides, best practices, and platform designs—ensuring knowledge continuity and audit readiness.

Key Requirements for the role:
•    Knowledge of CCIB Client Coverage, Transaction Banking and Financial Markets products – to enable assessment of cross-business issues.
•    Fair understanding of CCIB Credit Risks and assessment including credit analysis.
•    Relevant business experience in operations, business analysis or project management.
•    Strong analytical skills, detail-focused with the ability to interpret large volume of information.
•    Problem solving skills with ability to influence across all levels of business.
•    Ability to independently drive initiatives with minimum hands-on supervision.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree / B.E. 
•    Ideally 5+ years of experience in banking, analytical or another relevant environment
•    Languages: English and/or local language skills as relevant to country requirements 

Skills and Experience

  • Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Intune managing Windows 11 and macOS endpoints (policies, configuration, compliance
  • Strong experience in enterprise application packaging and deployment engineering (including MSIX and IntuneWin).
  • Proven capability building Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines for automation and repeatable delivery.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting for automation and operational engineering.
  • Experience using Nexthink for endpoint analytics / experience monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security, compliance controls, and governance in regulated environments.
