Job Summary
The job holder will support the Environmental, Social, Governance and Reputational Risk (ESGR) team with a number of activities including internal reporting and external disclosures, risk governance, policy management and workplan execution. The role holder will work in close alignment with teams based in Singapore, India and London.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy*
- Support external and internal ESGR reporting requirements for Group and countries. This involves:
- Work with first and second line stakeholders including the Technology, Data Strategy, Risk Reporting, Net Zero and ESGR teams to ensure delivery of: a) Climate Risk-related financial disclosures e.g. TCFD, ISSB, CSRD; and b) internal reports to senior management and Committee
- Review of data and written commentaries to explain drivers in changes in data.
- Aid in the review of documents/materials as evidence for ERMF and BCBS 239 compliance.
- Work with stakeholders to execute on the Book of Work changes to the internal and external reports.
- Integration with WRB, given the mandate of the team. This includes
- Performing due diligence on WRB clients
- Support ESGR Risk Appetite framework for WRB
- Review and challenge of WRB Residential Mortgages related NZ targets and measurement, the Group’s own Net zero emission targets and progress, aligning with industry benchmarks.
- Other initiatives as directed by the Head
Business
Broad awareness and understanding of the bank’s business in CIB and WRB and risk profile.
Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, present topics in working groups and other committee meetings such as the Climate Risk Management Committee, Group Responsibility and Reputational Risk Committee.
Processes
Contribute to Group-wide RCSA reviews with respect to ESGR risk.
Evaluate relevant existing controls and contribute to designing new controls as required.
Risk Management
Risk Management
• Understanding of various scenario families including NGFS, IPCC, and IEA scenarios
• Understand and translating transmission channels of climate risks into financial system impacts
• Familiarity with industry leading climate risk models and climate/ESG data providers, with fluency in the scope, capabilities, and limitations of each tool and platform
• Understanding of regulatory expectations with respect to climate risks including capital frameworks etc
• Experience in dealing with large complex, change projects and/or building / delivering new capabilities
• A proven track record of liaising across diverse stakeholder groups; including senior managers, and large firm networks
• Experience with scenario expansion and/or econometric modelling for scenario analysis and stress testing purposes
• Ability to code in SAS, R, Python
• Prior experience in stress testing, understanding of IFRS9, IRB models in credit retail and wholesale space
• Ability to understand and appreciate the complex interlinkages between systems
Governance
• Contribute to overall governance mechanisms (including committee oversight and individual approval authorities) for regulatory and management scenario analysis.

The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- 8+ years of strong experience in reporting, Climate Risk, ESGR and/or Credit Risk Management
- Effective in tracking and reporting progress updates of multiple areas and in highlighting key issues
- Able to write well and explain complex matters in a simple and intuitive manner
- Collaborative
- Structured and dynamic, able to work with tight deadlines and multiple demands
- Attention to detail
- Strong experience in MS Excel and Power Point
