Key Responsibilities
- Leading the resolution of confirmation and settlement-related issues.
- Participating in capacity planning to determine the daily production capacity required to meet the evolving demands of job allocation.
- Prioritizing and scheduling departmental workloads to effectively manage volume fluctuations.
- Organizing leave coverage to ensure sufficient resources for continuous departmental operations.
- Communicating work plan challenges and escalating potential bottlenecks to Line Managers.
- Managing one or multiple processes through a team of Operations Officers, addressing escalations and errors, and potentially overseeing selected projects.
- Maintaining strong business relationships with the Front Office.
- Continuously reviewing the DOI to keep process procedures up to date.
- Facilitating treasury operations for derivatives asset classes promptly and efficiently.
- Understanding various product booking models and performing end-to-end operational processing for derivatives and commodity products.
- Daily responsibilities include affirming cash flows and settlement instructions, releasing payments, and conducting end-of-day controls.
- Constructing manual payments when necessary.
- Ensuring timely resolution of internal and external customer inquiries.
- Guaranteeing adequate resources, both in quantity and quality, to meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and achieve customer satisfaction.
- Providing guidance to junior analysts on daily business-as-usual functions within the derivatives and commodity products department.
- Assisting the Manager in overseeing all departmental BAU functions across relevant asset classes, including settlement, exception processing, MIS reporting, control and risk mitigation, as well as project and people management.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in banking operations, specializing in the settlement of OTC derivative products.
- Knowledge of trade confirmation and middle office processes is an added advantage.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching junior staff.
- Seeking positive, adaptable, and well-rounded professionals with the ability to collaborate effectively, demonstrate curiosity, and maintain an engaging work environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, data literacy, analytical thinking, and sound judgment are essential.
- Results-driven with keen attention to detail and strong research skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capable of working collaboratively within a team setting.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
