Job Summary
The Markets Governance team supports the governance of Markets businesses with respect to non-financial risks ensuring alignment with Bank Policy and Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). This role involves providing secretariat support of non-financial risk committees (NFRCs), monitoring overall risk management information, executing strong governance to ensure effective risk reporting and supporting risk initiative to build foundations for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Maintain understanding of Bank / CIB Governance standard and policy.
Business
• Good understanding of the Markets business, how Markets operate within Group, and the external market environment in which we operate.
• Good understanding of Risk standards and Policy relevant to the Markets business and scope of the role.
Processes
• Manage and coordinate Markets Non-Financial Risk Committees (NFRCs) including scheduling, agenda preparations and formalizing risk meeting deck.
• Ensure quality production and documentation of NFRCs materials to facilitate an effective discussion and decisions in NFRCs.
• Collaborate with NFRCs and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure non-financial risk agenda is reported on a timely basis.
• Prepare regular risk information reporting for management oversight.
• Support data research and analysis to facilitate comprehensive MI for emerging risk monitoring and enhancement.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in non-financial risk management activities.
• Assist in development and maintenance of risk dashboards and other reporting tools.
• Responsible for staying current with Policies and Standards relevant to Governance process.
• Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on non-financial risk management practices.
People & Talent
• Good technical skill to support process streamline and automation is preferable.
Risk Management
• Responsible for escalating and provide advice on relevant risks timely and accurately
• Stay alert with good risk awareness and able to pro-actively challenge on emerging risk to ensure effective governance.
Governance
• Ensure Governance meetings and risk forums are managed in accordance with Markets and the bank Governance Standard.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

• Markets Non-Financial Risk Committee (NFRCs) members, invitees and management team
• Markets NFRCs one down risk forums stakeholders and teams
• Markets Group, Regional and Country COO and functional teams
• Business and Functional stakeholders across CIB, 1st, 2nd and 3rd line of defences

• Responsible for developing a strong working relationship across all Markets risk and risk ops teams and locations.

• Responsible for promoting the Group’s brand and here for good with employees, clients and regulators.
• Responsible for performing other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders, and staff.
Qualifications
• EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Banking, Finance, Economics
• TRAINING: Bank Mandatory
• CERTIFICATIONS: Certificate in Operational Risk or equivalent
• LANGUAGES :English
