Job Summary

The Markets Governance team supports the governance of the Markets businesses with respect to (1) Non-financial risks; (2) Product governance; (3) Conduct and Culture; (4) Senior manager regime; (5) Internal policies and standards. This role is primarily focused on (2).

This is executed through activities like leading or providing inputs to Product Governance Forum (PGF), New Product Approval Committee (NPAC) and Non-Financial Risk Committees (NFRCs).

Roles & Responsibilities
As such the Product Governance Analyst will support activities that allow the Markets business to meet requirements laid out in the Product Governance Standard and Product Governance Policy.
•    Support the holistic product governance framework for Markets, through understanding Market’s strategy, group product governance framework and applicable standards.
•    Support product governance deliverables and initiatives. This is performed through co-ordination of approvals, business analysis and supporting stakeholders in approving functions (e.g. Business, Operations, Compliance, Legal, etc.)
•    Provide support and represent Markets (as delegated) in Product related forums and working groups within CIB.
•    Collaborate with stakeholders and support partners to drive the Product agenda and its related Book of Work
•    Manage communication of status updates to key stakeholders including Senior Management through presentations and reports.

Key Responsibilities

Business
•    Foundational understanding of the Markets business, how Markets operates within Group, and the external market environment in which we operate.
•    Good understanding of Risk standards and Policy relevant to the Markets business and scope of the role. 

Processes
•    Responsible for staying current with Policies and Standards relevant to Product Governance process.
•    Contributes to improving efficiencies and timeliness of relevant processes (e.g. data collation and approvals).
•    Provides guidance and support for product governance related matters to end-users (e.g. PPG, CA, Periodic reviews, eProduct workflows)
•    Supports the compilation and reporting of status updates to relevant stakeholders and forums or working groups.
•    Supports remediation of risks and issues identified in the process (e.g. via audit or self-assessment)
•    Provides input into annual or ad-hoc risk reviews as required.
•    Provides input into product testing or scenario analysis.
•    Supports post-implementation approvals for new / changed products.

Risk Management
•    Responsible for escalating and provides advice on relevant risks timely and accurately

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

•    Education: Bachelor's Degree Or Equivalent In Banking, Finance, Economics
•    Training: Bank Mandatory
•    Certifications: Certificate In Operational Risk Or Equivalent
