Job Summary
The Product Owner will play a pivotal role within the Wealth Management Core Platform Hive, taking ownership of the product delivery and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. This position demands a deep understanding of front-to-back trade flows for Capital Markets products and Managed Investments, with a proven track record in delivering core booking and settlement platform enhancements.
This role requires a strategic mindset and proactive leadership to navigate complex operational landscapes, ensuring seamless execution of initiatives while fostering innovation and continuous improvement. As a Product Owner, you will serve as a key decision maker, collaborating closely with diverse teams and stakeholders to translate client needs into actionable product backlog items, thus driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Product Owner (PO) Specific Responsibilities:
- Take full accountability for delivering the product roadmap in accordance with the business plan and quality performance metrics, ensuring measurable contribution to organizational goals.
- Manage and continuously refine the product backlog with clarity and precision, prioritizing features and enhancements based on stakeholder feedback, business value, and market trends.
- Champion value-driven product delivery by fostering an environment of continuous improvement, soliciting and integrating feedback from customers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
- Maintain transparency through regular communication of progress, identifying potential blockers, dependencies, and risks in backlog items to facilitate proactive resolution.
- Commit to being an integral core member of one or more agile squads, providing dedicated leadership and fostering a high-performing, psychologically safe team culture.
- Advocate for client and stakeholder voices within the delivery process to ensure outcomes fully align with user needs and business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, technical leads, and other squad members to build empowered teams that embrace agility and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and assurance standards, including New Ways of Working Standards (nWOWS) and Corporate Governance Policies (CGP).
- Oversee the comprehensive management of Process Change, Operational, and Delivery Risks related to product backlogs, adhering strictly to organizational risk protocols.
- Lead and coordinate efforts across multiple squads, ranging from 1 to 5 teams, to drive cohesive and efficient delivery of strategic initiatives.
Strategic Leadership:
- Manage and monitor the execution of approved transformation initiatives, aligning with the broader organizational transformation agenda and ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
- Contribute to defining the Core Wealth Platform's strategic direction and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overarching business strategies and investment priorities.
- Partner with Wealth Management (WM) Hive leads to facilitate seamless project implementation across multiple geographies, promoting consistent and scalable delivery models.
Business Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain robust stakeholder relationships across WM Business units, COO/Operations, Technology & Innovation, Risk & Compliance, and Group Internal Audit to synchronize efforts and support tribe-wide deliverables.
- Ensure comprehensive representation of all relevant stakeholder groups within delivery forums, fostering transparent communication and collaboration.
- Effectively escalate and communicate progress and challenges to key leadership roles, including Cluster Lead, Hive Lead, Hive Tech Lead, and Chief Product Owner, to enable informed decision-making and timely interventions.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate will leverage at least 10 years of banking and wealth management experience, applying robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills to effectively drive product value maximization.
- Expertise with Temenos applications combined with strong solution design capabilities will significantly enhance success in this role.
- Educational qualifications typically include a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business administration, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Applicants should hold a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) credential or possess comparable professional certifications demonstrating expertise in Scrum and Agile product ownership methodologies.
