Job Summary

The Markets Governance team supports the governance of the Markets businesses with respect to (1) Non-financial risks; (2) Product governance; (3) Conduct and Culture; (4) Senior manager regime; (5) Internal policies and standards. This role is focused on (3), (4) and (5).

This is executed through activities like leading or providing inputs to the Non-financial risk committees (NFRCs), Group Conduct forum and working with the functions to ensure effective risk governance, building the foundations for future growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Maintains understanding of Bank / CIB Conduct standards and policy

Business
•    Good understanding of the Markets business, how Markets operate within Group, and the external market environment in which we operate.
•    Good understanding of Risk standards and Policy relevant to the Markets business and scope of the role. 

Processes
•    Support identifying process gaps that may give rise to non-adherence to Policies and Standards relevant to the Markets business.
•    Support identification of efficiencies and timeliness improvements for relevant processes (e.g. conduct data collation and review via golden source).
•    As directed, provide support to maintain the Markets Conflict of Interest (COI) Register, in accordance with the requirements specified in Group Conflicts of Interest Policy and Group Conflicts of Interest Risk Management Standards.
•    Provide analysis for conduct related matters across the Markets Process Universe and process owner support as required, for processes such as for Complaints and Gifts & Entertainment.
•    Provide feedback on conduct supervisory dashboard for Markets and other dashboard initiatives (e.g. at CIB level)
•    Support the compilation and reporting of Mandatory Conduct Review (MCR) metrics and issues to relevant forums.
•    Understand and support bank’s and FCA standards of completing the annual conduct effectiveness review and Markets overall approach to setting and managing conduct risk.
•    Support the analysis and review of relevant conduct metrics (including Employee Grievance, Shared Investigation Services, behavioural concerns) and alignment to the Ten Conduct Outcomes
•    Support Markets business and function Heads in overseeing the identification, recording, escalation, and management of COIs that arise within those areas of responsibilities.
•    Provide feedback on improvements in regard to process, workflow and tooling in Conflicts Risk Management System (CRMS) and COI processes.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Banking or Financial Instituition.
  • Min 5 years of relevant experience
  • Good Communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using MS Office ie. Excel macros with data / Phython.
  • Able to leverage programming within Excel to streamline data manipulation and analysis.
