The Engineering Excellence & DevOps team sitting in Technology Strategy & Architecture organization are seeking a SRE engineer with 5 or more years of experience to be an DevOps SRE Engineer, Automation, Cloud Tooling and TOIL reduction and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Understand the bank’s DevOps strategy and implementing automation solutions to improve the bank’s software delivery pipeline.

Business
•    This role requires broad engagement with application delivery teams across the bank, helping them adopt DevOps pipeline solutions to improve delivery efficiency and maturity.

Processes
•    Understand the bank’s software delivery processes and implement solutions in line with the bank’s compliance and security requirement.

People & Talent
•    Work collaboratively with a team of diverse engineers in sprint delivery.
•    Produce technical documentation and prepare training materials on the solutions being delivered and provide technical support.
•    Conduct briefing and/or training sessions to application delivery teams to help them get onboarded and accelerate adoption.

Risk Management
•    Understand bank’s risk management framework and embed that into the technology solution being delivered.

Governance
•    Understand bank’s software delivery & quality assurance framework and assist in solutioning in respective governance activity.

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Skills and Experience

•    Experience in AWS & Azure architecture, design and implementation
•    Hands-on experience in python. Proficient in additional cloud tools helm. EKS, AKS, Dashboards, Monitoring
•    Hands-on in CICD DevOps tools ADO, Artifactory, Sonarqube
•    AI and ML Development skill
•    Experience Cloud security, best practices
•    Experience with Unix and Windows host operating systems, scripting (Bash/Shell or PowerShell) & networking is desirable

The hard:
•    Automation and TOIL reduction
•    ensuring that all relevant platforms are being efficiently and appropriately supported in SCB Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) toolchains, including identifying opportunities for toolchain and operational practise improvement and refinement, and ensuring that ‘infrastructure as code’ deployment mechanisms are common and portable across Cloud and non-Cloud environments
•    Cloud platform estate management including license / support subscription oversight, control and best utilization, automation of estate reporting and management, including close collaboration with other Platforms and ITIL Team team/product leads to ensure that Cloud Support needs are covered in line with Bank strategy and policy
•    Operational design, maintenance and continuous improvement of event and audit logging frameworks and systems for cloud environments
•    Supporting adoption of containers and container control frameworks
•    Incident Management for issues related to Cloud Services, acting as senior escalation and control point for Cloud Support (and wider Platforms Teams) and driving service restoration and stability during significant incident
