Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Associate, Product Specialist to support the continued development and optimisation of the Fixed Income Order Management System within Wealth Digital Products and Proposition. This role combines strong Fixed Income domain knowledge with product and delivery execution support, helping translate user and business needs into clear, implementable feature outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to improve platform capability, user experience, and operational effectiveness. This is a product-aligned, execution-focused specialist role with hands-on involvement across the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Support Product Owners in shaping and refining feature scope, backlog priorities, and release plans based on business value, user feedback, and operational needs.
  • Provide domain input on Fixed Income OMS workflows, platform capabilities, and enhancement opportunities to support product evolution.
  • Use client feedback, production issues, and service metrics to recommend incremental product and workflow improvements.

 

Business

  • Act as a subject matter specialist for Fixed Income OMS workflows, user needs, and platform capabilities.
  • Work with business and technology teams to define clear functional and technical user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional requirements for new features and enhancements.
  • Communicate functional & technical decisions, trade-offs, and change impacts clearly to both business and technical audiences.
  • Engage users and stakeholders to understand workflow pain points, gather feedback, and support adoption of product changes.

Processes

  • Support squad delivery by clarifying requirements, assessing impacts, resolving functional queries, and helping ensure backlog readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and domain experts to define integration requirements, assess business and technical impacts, and conduct detailed feasibility analysis to ensure seamless product implementation.
  • Support functional testing and user acceptance activities, including test scenario definition, defect triage, and validation of delivered outcomes.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, user experience, and control effectiveness within the Fixed Income OMS landscape.

 

People & Talent

  • Share product and domain knowledge with squad members and stakeholders to improve understanding of Fixed Income OMS workflows and change impacts.
  • Contribute as a collaborative team member within the squad, supporting effective delivery across Product, Engineering, and business teams.

 

Risk Management

  • Identify functional, operational, and control impacts of proposed changes, and raise risks, issues, or dependencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain awareness of conduct, compliance, and operational risk considerations relevant to product changes and day-to-day delivery.
  • Support timely resolution of defects or change issues that may affect user outcomes, controls, or service stability.

Governance

  • Ensure requirements, testing artefacts, and change documentation meet internal governance, control, and delivery standards, including ESDLC expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and traceable documentation for features, enhancements, and testing outcomes.
  • Ensure delivered changes are aligned with applicable policies, standards, and regulatory obligations.

Skills and Experience

  • Software Product Business Knowledge
    • Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; knowledge of the install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision

 

  • Requirements Analysis
    • Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

 

  • Software Change Request Management
    • Knowledge of, and experience with, managing product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.

 

  • Scrum
    • Knowledge of the principles, components and features of scrum methodology; ability to apply this methodology to manage software product development processes.

 

  • Release Management
    • Knowledge of activities, practices, deliverables and application release techniques; ability to manage and control the implementation of new or enhanced applications into a production/live environment.

 

  • Application Delivery Process
    • Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, and formal application delivery methodologies; ability to utilize these in order to deliver new or enhanced applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or higher, in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Overall 10 years of IT experience within the financial services industry, including 3-5 years of relevant experience in product specialist, business analysis, or product delivery roles.
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income financial instruments, trading workflows, and Order Management System processes. 
  • Proven experience supporting product enhancements, change delivery, and functional analysis in Agile environments
  • Hands-on experience in requirements gathering, user story writing, process modelling, impact assessment, and documentation. 
  • Experience supporting UAT, functional validation, defect management, and implementation readiness.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft ADO, Jira, Confluence, Excel, SQL, or equivalent tools used in product and delivery teams.

  • Experience working closely with Product Owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to support delivery of client- and user-focused solutions.

 

Technical Skills

  • Translate and articulate technical requirements clearly, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation through detailed analysis
  • Working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot in enterprise application environments, with ability to engage engineering teams on service behaviour, API contracts, and implementation constraints.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL data concepts, including data models, query behaviour, and production data considerations relevant to Fixed Income OMS workflows.
  • Exposure to AWS cloud environments, especially EC2-based deployments, with understanding of application hosting, release, and operational implications.
