Job Description: 

Job Summary

The ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and coordinate mitigation of risks within the Operations function.  Awareness of the wider Risk and Control environment and the challenges facing product, process and function heads. Familiarity with operational risk framework control and risk metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Wealth Operations Risk & Governance strategy aligned to Group Risk and Wealth priorities
  • Provide senior oversight on client asset protection, fiduciary, conduct, and regulatory compliance risks
  • Embed governance frameworks for outsourced activities, inter-entity servicing, and service accountability
  • Lead governance for regulatory changes in tax, suitability, disclosures, market conduct, and cross-border rules
  • Oversee end-to-end wealth operations risk framework, including:
    • RCSA across onboarding, account maintenance, payments, corporate actions, trade processing, tax operations, and asset servicing
    • Incident, error, and loss event management with root cause evaluation
    • Issues, actions, and audit finding closure governance
  • Ensure robust controls around client assets and money, including cash & securities movements, third-party payments, and reconciliations
  • Strengthen controls around tax interpretation, tax reporting, and withholding obligations (US & non-US)
  • Drive process standardization and control rationalization across regions supported by GBS
  • Enhance risk MI, KRIs, and dashboards to provide forward-looking insights to senior stakeholders
  • Lead responses to regulatory reviews, internal audits, external audits, and compliance testing
  • Translate multi-faceted regulatory requirements (e.g., client suitability, tax reporting, withholding tax, fiduciary obligations) into practical operational controls
  • Balance control rigor with turnaround time (TAT), cost efficiency, and service quality
  • Quality Assurance check on minimum standards/framework and compliance to Group Policies and Procedures or Global Reconciliation Unit’s minimum standards.
  • Recommend changes to the control environment or to operational processes/practices to reduce the level of operational risk exposures.
  • Assess periodically WMO’s operational risk profile and maintain alignment with risk appetite by rebalancing of risks or controls that may be required in response to internal and external factors. 
  • Ascertain and confirm that KRIs, KCIs and Key Control Self-Assessment (KCSA) or Control Sample Testing (CST) as approved, are effectively implemented and completed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Any Graduation with Min 10 Yrs Of Experience
  • Training: Wealth Products (Retail & Private Banking), Operations Risk Management
  • Certifications: Risk Certifications Preferred
