Key Responsibilities
The role of Country Chief Risk Officer, Korea (CCRO, Korea) is responsible for leading the Risk function in Korea. The role has oversight responsibilities for all risk disciplines in Korea and acts as Risk’s senior contact point for both internal stakeholders and external regulators.
The job holder is expected to partner with internal stakeholders from all areas to deliver the right outcome for Bank. Specifically, he/she is expected to drive risk process optimization as well as business growth in the context of agreed risk appetite.
As CCRO, Korea
- Inform the development of business plans with the provision of cost and impairment forecasts and a balanced judgement on the external environment.
- Contribute to the development of performance management processes, to encourage the development of an appropriate risk culture and discipline.
- Embed innovation, digitization, and analytics by defining and actioning the future-state analytics operating model.
- Responsible for risk related disclosure to regulators, investors, analysts, and rating agencies (such as annual and interim results, Pillar 3, and that ensure they are compliant with applicable regulatory requirements)
- Represent the Risk function in relevant committees or management forums.
- Supervise the teams to achieve sound management of all aspects of risk in country.
- Appraise and contribute to the development of the Bank's strategic plans.
- Align the strategy of the Risk function with business strategy and risk appetite and oversee its execution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of financial banking services experience, in risk management, compliance, finance or control management.
- Deep understanding of various risk types and risk management strategies.
- Proficient in policies and procedures, with the ability to implement change seamlessly.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage time and priorities effectively with minimal supervision.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences at all levels of seniority.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills; organized, motivated, and proactive, with a willingness to take initiative.
