JOB SUMMARY

CMPS Structured Products team provides pricing, execution and advisory services for Structured Products to Private banking, Business Banking and Retail clients in Hong Kong.  The ideal candidate will need to assist the team in doing the following tasks: 

  • Assist Structured Products team to perform the day to day work, which includes execution, pricing quotation, trades booking, termsheet generation, PnL booking, etc. 
  • Assist the team to meet financial goals. This will include constant monitoring of financial performance, frequent contacts through visits, conference calls, email exchanges to help ensure financial metric stay on track 
  • Assist senior team member to prepare powerpoint for presentations and may participate in providing training workshops for relationship managers
  • Assist the team in doing system enhancement, UAT testing for process streamlining. 
  • Identify, monitor, manage and control business, operations, governance and compliance risk with regards to CMPS structured products business

  • Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role 
  • Strategize and execute long term strategic plans and tactical plans to capture business opportunities within the footprint of SCB in HK 

Business

  • CMPS Structured Products team provides pricing, execution and advisory services for Structured Products to Private banking, Business Banking and Retail clients in Hong Kong.  The ideal candidate will need to assist the team in doing the daily tasks to support business continuity.
  • The desk aims to provide innovative structured products ideas to Private Banks and Retail clients.  The candidate will be assisting the desk to onboard new payoffs, including but not limited to documentation preparation, system enhancement and process streamlining, training workshops, etc. 
  • The team has a vision to expand product scope and grow client base.   

Processes

Risk Management

  • Identify, monitor, manage and control business, operations, governance and compliance risk with regards to CMPS structured products business 
  • Ensure conformity with the relevant internal and external rules and regulations 

Governance

  • Working through the Business Risk Team, ensure adherence to the ORMAF in the identification, assessment, mitigation and control and monitoring of risk. Ensure sufficient traction and follow through management actions to mitigate identified operational risks exposure. This will include all CSTs, KRIs and other OR initiatives are properly managed 
  • Ensure all products have the necessary CAs, Product Approval and DOI 
  • Ensure the team adhere to FM Code of Conduct, and have the necessary certifications and training 

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • HK local regulators: Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Securities and Futures Commission  

Key Stakeholders

  • Constantly engage with Wealth Management and Client Segment to understand their product needs, support them on product ideas, design and provide best execution for all CMPS activities 
  • Engage with Client Segment on a periodic basis to address any issues they may have in relation to CMPS activities 
  • Have periodic contacts with FM to update them on CMPS activities including governance and business issues 
  • Regular contacts with WM to update them on CMPS initiatives and challenges 

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in CMPS; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)
