Title: Associate Director, Investment Portfolio Mgr, Treasury Markets

Responsibilities
- Ensure the portfolio is risk managed on a pro-active basis, from an individual counterparty risk basis, through to ultimate country risk. To determine the optimal profile balancing (i) current and expected market pricing (ii) performance attribution for the credit risk (iii) inherent liquidity within each bond, after taking into consideration the current market conditions (ease of sell down / repo).
- Work closely with the TM Portfolio Management team to understand the financial resource framework and make investment decision based on optimised usage of financial resources framework such as capital, liquidity to generate the best RoTE outcomes within the agreed mandate.
- Manage the TM portfolio with a primary objective of liquidity and a secondary objective of maximising RORWA and therefore RoTE within agreed limits and Risk Appetite - Group RoTE to be prioritized over region/ country RoTE.
- Working within the risk limits allocated by the TM Portfolio Management team and get the team’s clearance on additional risk requirements.
- Asset Allocation – Understand the Global/ Country Asset Allocation and maintain a portfolio of HQLA and short-term interbank exposure, supporting regulatory requirements, managing surplus liquidity and balancing returns with risk appetite and limits.
- Switch between currencies to capture interest rate and swap arbitrages, with the agreement of the Liquidity Management that this does not compromise the Bank’s liquidity position (Liquidity Management have right of veto).
- Make use of on-balance sheet and off-balance sheet products (e.g. IRS) as hedging tools. Use of on-balance sheet product coordinated with Liquidity Management
- Primarily use the banking book and hedge effective products, to minimise swings to PnL.
- Respect the minimum hold requirement for all securities purchased.
Requirements
- Degree holder in relevant disciplines
- Experience in Balance Sheet and Liquidity Management in Financial Services
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
