Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Treasury Markets team, focus on executing the Treasury’s investment strategies and hedging the bank’s interest rate risks. This role plays a key part in meeting the bank’s return targets and offers dynamic growth opportunities within the organisation.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively manage the bond portfolio with a primary focus of liquidity and secondary objective of maximising returns. Meeting regulatory requirements and balanced with risk appetite.
  • Position the investment book across currencies and instruments to capture interest rates volatility and swap arbitrages.  
  • Closely monitor regional market developments and provide timely expert insights to our stakeholders.
  • Understand the IRRBB and financial resources framework, optimising investment decisions and executing trades to meet global targets.
  • Work closely with Liquidity management and collaborate with other internal functions in daily operations. Build strong relationships with external sell-side.
  • Participate in various Treasury projects, continuously improve work process and efficiencies.

Processes and Risk Management

  • Operate within defined Treasury Markets processes, governance, and risk frameworks.
  • Adhere to Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes.

Governance and Conduct

  • Enforce a culture of risk management, control and governance, and ensure that compliance with the risk management processes in place.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of dealing experience in bank treasury or other related markets functions.
  • Solid understanding of G10 rates and Asian macro markets.
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills in making investment decision.
  • Multi-tasking and ability to execute trades under fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills for articulating strategy and risk to stakeholders.
  • Fluency (written and oral) in English and Chinese is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Programming is a plus.
