SC Ventures is Standard Chartered’s innovation, fintech investment and ventures arm. We were established to reinvent banking, as the significant technological disruptions to the industry was impacting its ability to serve clients and customers, in the ways they needed to be served.

We are a global team of "Members" (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group's support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, and the United Arab Emirates
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Experienced and seasoned professional with investment banking background as well as significant exposure to venture capital and/or private equity sectors to be the deal captain to lead our fundraising and M&A efforts, manage investor relations, and drive growth for our innovative platform. As a key member of our team, you’ll be responsible for transaction execution, originating and managing relationships with investors, identifying new opportunities for venture growth and/ or monetization.
Business
• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising and monetization plan, lead overall deal execution, be key contact for external advisors, review and sign off draft transactions. Liaison point with SCV Functions team, Accelerator team, and the Group’s Global Corporate Development team as interface with ventures/investors and SCB leadership.
• Support the ventures and platform teams to drive growth and revenue expansion. Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, financial investors, corporates and other industry leaders.
Processes
• Ensure reporting analytics are regularly provided to Operating Members
• External fundraising of early-stage ventures
• Mergers or Acquisition of business entities for ventures
• Monetization or divestiture of ventures
• Sell down/ exit venture stakes via private or capital markets.
• Divest platform business segment
• Divest existing fund at platform
People & Talent
• Mentor and manage a broader team of fundraising colleagues, providing guidance and support to build success across the function / SC Ventures.
Risk Management
• Ensure risk assessment, through due diligence, developing a comprehensive execution plan.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Your expertise will ensure successful deal execution, minimize potential risks, and protect our organization's interests
Governance
• M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) governance responsibilities typically involve overseeing the entire M&A process to ensure that transactions are executed efficiently, effectively, and with minimal risk. Key responsibilities include:
• Strategic oversight: Ensuring alignment with company strategy and objectives.
• Deal evaluation: Assessing potential deals, including financial, operational, and cultural fit.
• Due diligence: Overseeing the process to identify potential risks and liabilities.
• Risk management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
• Compliance: Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, laws, and industry standards.
• Stakeholder management: Communicating with stakeholders, including employees, customers, investors, and regulatory bodies.
• Performance monitoring: Tracking deal performance, identifying areas for improvement, and adjusting as needed.
• Governance structure: Establishing a clear governance structure for the merged entity.
• Cultural alignment: Ensuring cultural alignment and effective leadership transition.

• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
