JOB SUMMARY

  • We are looking for energetic talents with to-win mindset and strong aspiration to grow career in FX advisory and dealing field. With good understanding of financial market and knowledge in FX asset class, the role would need to perform daily FX execution and high-level advisory services to both internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, this is also an ideal opportunity to get in touch to a wider investment community as the role would involve interaction and communication with sales, traders, analysts, strategists, and economists in the street. There will be individual performance expectations, and you will need to always maintain operational risk control and compliance, but we will provide you with thorough training on the full range of necessary support to perform in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role 
  • Strategize and execute long term strategic plans and tactical plans to capture business opportunities within the footprint of SCB in HK

Business

  • Expand FX customer base and increase customer turnover by providing professional services
  • Responsible for advisory, distribution, and execution of FX products to PvB customers and RMs
  • Translate the financial markets information and deliver excellent customer services by updating financial markets knowledge to PvB customers and RMs
  • Achieve FX HK revenue target
  • Provide FX execution and advisory services to front office
  • Provide market update and investment/trading strategies to relationship managers.

Processes

  • Ensure a strong execution platform to enable relevance of products that it serves across all its markets
  • Review and upgrade of existing FX product features/ services/ operations.
  • Responsible for FX product ideation, structuring, advisory and execution for PvB segment
  • Assist to implement and upgrade of FX relevant dealing platforms
  • Review and upgrade of existing FX product features / services / operations
  • Conduct regular product update and trainings to RMs related to investment trend and investment opportunities
  • Regular contact with RMs to agree with FX focus and investment strategy
  • Participate in joint client meetings with RMs if required
  • Understand our market competitors and improve our competitiveness
  • Work closely with Risk and Control Team to ensure proper functioning of day-today controls, periodic monitoring activities and timely resolution of risk issues
  • Strictly follow the internal and external regulatory requirements and ensure that best execution practices are in line with these necessary standards

People & Talent

  • Ensure HK team has a highly trained and experienced pool of specialists / dealers
  • Ensure all in house training to complete entirely and timely
  • Ensure professional skills and/or knowledge in trading and FX derivatives market.

Risk Management

  • Identify, monitor, manage and control business, operations, governance and compliance risk with regards to FX HK business
  • Ensure conformity with the relevant internal and external rules and regulations
  • Ensure that sales, advisory and execution are fully compliant with internal and external policies and regulations

Governance

  • Ensure all FX products have the necessary Product Approval
  • To adhere to Code of Conduct, and have the necessary certifications and training.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Hong Kong Fixed Income to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment. 
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

  • Constantly engage with Segment Heads to understand their product needs, support them on product ideas, design and provide best execution for all FX activities
  • Engage with Client Segment Heads on a periodic basis to address any issues they may have in relation to FX activities
  • Have periodic contacts with FM FX products head to update them on FX(PvB) HK activities including manpower, governance and business issues
  • Regular contacts with WM Head to update them on FX(PvB) HK initiatives and challenges.

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in HK FX; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)

Qualification

  • University graduated, professional qualification including CFA/FRM/CPA would be a plus
  • Min 8 years of experience in Finance/Sales/Dealing field, FX Dealing experience would be a plus
  • Good understanding of Wealth Management Industry, either in Private Banking or Retail Banking
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
  • Good Computer Skills, Excel Macro knowledge would be a plus
