The staff will be a key member of the Global Bank & Broker Dealers (BBD) & Greater China North Asia (GCNA) Coverage Chief of Staff (“COS”) Team and will work very closely with the COS/COO Coverage & team, and the BBDPSMT & GCNA MT.

 

The role will be responsible for supporting the Global BBD & GCNA Coverage Head, in driving business performance and results through: 1) Business reviews & sales enablement, 2) Client portfolio management and proposition, 3) Cost & People agenda, 4) Business strategy execution and project management & 5) day-to-day running of the Business.

And is inherently varied and reflects the changing demands and responsibilities of Global BBD & GCNA Coverage Head.

Responsibilities

•    Assist with the development of strategy, execution and tracking of the Business priorities.
•    Assist with driving the Business and coordinate input for the MT & Leadership meetings
•    Assist with preparation and roll out of respective marketing events together with any pre/post tracking requirements.
•    Assist with effective communication and alignment with key stakeholders in profiling the Business and its priorities.
•    Monthly tracking and reporting of portfolio performance for the Business 
•    Financial Plan and YTD revenue against budget 
•    Pipelines to be monitored to facilitate discussion
•    Track and review cost budgets and identify opportunities and risks to delivery targets
•    Assist with the preparation of budgets and relevant business KPIs (including scorecard)  and associated tracking.

•    Work closely with stakeholders to manage the Business risks globally, conform to global standards, improve risk metrics, e-enablement & culture, and provide support to ensure no failed audits (internal & external)
•    Review and support preparation of papers for submissions to various Risk forums/ committees
•    Understand and perform quality control on risk agenda items across the portfolio in collaboration with key risk partners (e.g. credit, operational, financial crime risk)
•    Stay on top of developing regulations and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure bank compliance
•    Ensuring that static data maintenance for the Business is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and recommending the necessary remediation actions should the timely and accurate conditions not be met
•    Oversight and support of any related regulatory projects for the Business
•    Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

•    IT /technology & COO  liaison on key projects and cost mapping
•    Assist in review of processes for improving efficiency
•    Liaising with stakeholders to get assurance on the accuracy and consistency of data to prevent unintentional changes to information
•    Support the Business head in delivering against HR objectives and initiatives: Diversity and Inclusion targets, high-performing culture, succession planning, etc
•    Work closely with frontline teams on performance measurement and performance reviews. Ensure a transparent correlation between bonus and scorecard score
•    Assist with the annual Certified Person review

Requirements

•    Minimum bachelor’s degree; in Banking, Finance or quantitative field is preferred
•    Ideally 10+ years’ experience in banking or another financial companies
•    High working knowledge and experience working with large data sets and providing summary analysis with excel, PowerPoint, VBA and Tableau is essential.  Experiences in additional analytical tools (e.g. SAS, R) & use of AI tools is a plus but not necessary.
•    Strong execution capability, high discipline with excellent project management skills
•    Strong team orientation. Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural, cross-geographical, matrix environment
•    High level of responsiveness, sense of urgency & prioritisation; ability to operate in a highly pressurised & dynamic environment
•    Strong drive for results, ability to plan, track and follow through
•    Flexibility and responsiveness in order to handle changing priorities and urgent requests from senior management.
•    Maintain discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
•    Languages: English and/or local language skills as relevant to country requirements
