Job Summary
• The Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) function manages a diverse portfolio of over 1,600 buildings across Standard Chartered Bank's global footprint. Operating as a globally managed function and working closely with in-country teams, CRES supports the Bank’s business needs by delivering efficient and effective workplace services. CRES enables daily operations for colleagues, clients and communities while driving innovation through CRES Technology & Data, Digitisation and Sustainability – bridging the physical and digital worlds.
• CRES drives the strategy and implementation of Workplace Experience, Facilities Management, Safety Security Services and CRES Supply Partner platforms by adhering to defined bank standards and processes. Typically, our purpose is to drive continuous improvement through innovative change – enhancing the Bank’s physical environment, reinforcing brand identity and fostering collaborative and inclusive spaces. In doing so, we help optimise the real estate portfolio to support strategic objectives and contribute to Return on Tangible Equity (ROTE).
• The CRES Cluster Tech Lead is a member of the banks Technology and Operations Domain (T&O) but is fully funded and dedicated to supporting CRES team, which accordingly reports directly to the CRES Tech Hive Lead.
• The role requires an experienced program and relationship manager, with strong technical, communication, influencing, governance and assurance skills to deliver and evolve workplace technology solutions, aligning with the Bank’s strategy and sustainability goals. The role involves collaboration with various teams and stakeholders, ensuring technology and strategic considerations are integrated into project planning and delivery. With the objective being to optimize technology performance, enhance workplace experience, and support business productivity. Note: CRES Technology projects within any given cluster typically include the provision of desktop and meeting room technology solutions (AV/VC), the successful delivery and reliability of which, forms the core responsibility of the role.
• As the voice of the customer (CRES), the CRES Cluster Tech lead also ensures both technology and CRES strategic considerations are appropriately captured within tech roadmaps, solutioning, project planning, delivery and handover (to BAU), as well as alignment with bank defined technology, security and CRES standards.
• In addition to supporting the successful deployment of workplace technology solutions, the role also includes supporting the CRES Technology Hive in delivery of the approved CRES Tech BAU & compliance book of work (BOW). Additionally, there will be an expectation to provide feedback and insights to the CRES Product Owner to facilitate the development of optimal CRES technology roadmaps and strategic development.
- Supports Hive Tech Lead on technology strategy, roadmap, and execution.
- Support the execution of technology components of CRES projects, ensuring alignment with workplace experience, digitalisation, and sustainability goals.
- Translate global strategic objectives into actionable project plans that enhance technology integration across the real estate lifecycle.
- Monitor trends in smart building technologies, workplace tech, and data solutions to identify opportunities for strategic innovation and optimisation.
- Promote engineering craftsmanship and focus on delivering business value.
- Partner with CRES Strategic Programme, Integrator Programme Office, and Supply Partner and Variable Project Management Teams to ensure technology enhances business productivity, space efficiency, and user experience.

- Ensure successful end-to-end delivery of workplace technology initiatives within CRES lead projects, adhering to Change Delivery Standards (CDS) and best practices in programme governance and stakeholder engagement.
- Analyse, remove, or mitigate dependencies across teams to enable speed and quality of delivery.
- Enable connectivity between CRES project teams and the technology Delivery Hub, acting as a point of escalation for transparency and issue resolution.
- Champion process improvement by identifying gaps, inefficiencies, or manual workarounds within CRES and technology workflows.
- Oversee deployment and regional management of workplace technology initiatives on CRES owned projects.
- Oversee vendor coordination and procurement planning for timely delivery, health & safety, quality assurance, and commercial alignment.
- Act as trusted advisor to CRES leadership and colleagues on technology use, deployment, adoption, and optimisation.
- Maintain alignment with other CRES Cluster Tech Leads to anticipate dependencies and manage priorities.
- Maintain robust programme governance for all regional technology initiatives, including delivery status, RAID logs, action trackers, and documentation.
- Provide weekly reports to the Head of T&A delivery – CRES Projects on project status and risks & blockers.
- Track and report on programme milestones, KPIs, financials, and risks to internal governance bodies and technical forums.
Qualifications
• Education Bachelor of Computer Science, ICT, Software Engineering etc.
• Certifications PMP, Prince 2, ITI
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in programme management, preferably within a financial service or similarly regulated environment.
• Demonstratable experience in delivering complex, multistakeholder technology programmes with significant vendor engagement.
• Solid understanding of workplace technology ecosystems, including collaboration platforms, audiovisual systems, network infrastructure and other end user technologies.
• Proven ability to manage programme financials, including budgets, forecasts, and vendor contract negotiations.
• Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across senior leadership, technical teams, and external partners.
• Exception organizational planning and problem-solving capabilities with a client-centric delivery focus and risk-aware mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly and concisely.
• High level of commercial and financial acumen.
• Deep understanding of regulatory, security, and compliance considerations relevant to technology delivery in a financial institution
