As an integral member of Standard Chartered's Private Bank, the ED, Advisory & Dealing, Credit role focuses on advancing the fixed income product offerings to align seamlessly with the bank's comprehensive wealth management and investment advisory strategies. This role entails deep engagement with private banking clients to deliver customized fixed income investment solutions tailored to their unique risk appetites, return objectives, and liquidity needs. The successful individual will provide insightful market commentary and trade ideas grounded in macroeconomic trends, interest rate movements, and credit market dynamics, fostering a rich advisory environment.
Leading the collaboration between fixed income specialists, relationship managers, and investment advisory teams, the role aims to optimize client portfolio diversification and enhance yield generation. Emphasis is placed on promoting structured credit products and other alternative fixed income opportunities to drive asset under management growth and product penetration within the private banking segment.
Serving as the primary fixed income specialist contact for private banking stakeholders, you will provide personalized advice, trade execution support, and market intelligence especially for DAC clients, thus underwriting revenue growth through broadened client access to a spectrum of fixed income instruments including sovereign and corporate bonds, structured notes, and interest rate derivatives. Additionally, you will work closely with product partners to structure competitive pricing and efficient market access, while empowering relationship managers with education and tools to position fixed income as effective cash alternatives or yield enhancers, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards at all times.

Process Management:
Efficiently receive, evaluate, and execute client fixed income trade requests, including intricate structured credit transactions, ensuring timeliness, precision, and governance compliance throughout the trade lifecycle. Maintain vigilant oversight of bond pricing trends, credit rating developments, and liquidity conditions to facilitate accurate trade evaluations and risk mitigation.
Produce detailed and actionable market communications including daily fixed income market summaries, interest rate trajectory updates, and sector-specific credit condition analyses. Such communications should empower relationship managers and investment advisors with up-to-date intelligence to support their advisory functions.
Actively participate in investment committee deliberations and product knowledge enhancement sessions, staying abreast of evolving fixed income strategies and reinforcing regulatory compliance awareness. Leverage advanced technology platforms to centralize and streamline trade execution, processing, and settlement activities, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and error reduction.
Risk Management & Governance:
Proactively identify, monitor, manage, and control business, operational, governance, and compliance risks associated with the Hong Kong Fixed Income business. Ensure strict conformity with all pertinent internal controls, external regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment governing the Group’s activities and uphold exemplary governance standards. - Possession of the required securities licenses for Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 4 (Advising on Securities) as stipulated by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission or equivalent regulatory authorities.
- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Formal certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or equivalent professional credentials will be considered advantageous.

- Execution Skills: Demonstrated experience in handling complex trade executions with accuracy and compliance, ensuring efficient settlement and risk control.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial modelling, scenario analysis, and reporting purposes, including use of macros and pivot tables.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working within a private banking environment or wealth management context, engaging high-net-worth clients and tailoring investment solutions accordingly.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards impacting fixed income activities in the Hong Kong market.
