Job Summary
• CMPS Structured Products team provides Structured Products solution to Private Banking, SME and Retail Banking segment. The team provides advisory and dealing services to the three client segments
• The ideal candidate will primarily focus in covering Private Banking clients, attend client meetings with Investment advisors and relationship managers and provide bespoke investment solutions to Private Banking clients.
• The candidate will be involved in idea generation, work closely with counterparties to work on new payoffs and initiatives, expand product shelf, onboard new payoffs and provide timely investment solutions to all three client segments via advisory, pricing and execution.
• As part of the idea generation process, the candidate will work closely with Group CMPS, Legal and Compliance to prepare product documentations and ensure the offering comply with local regulatory requirements.
• The candidate will be doing regular presentations to frontlines for market update and ideas pitching.
• As a senior member in the team, the candidate will work closely with Head of Structured Products to discuss initiatives and strategies, meet financial goals. This will include constant monitoring of financial performance, frequent contacts through visits, conference calls, email exchanges to help ensure financial metric stay on track
• The candidate will also be driving new projects, which includes but not limited to platform development; new regulatory requirements; new product development; etc.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role
• Strategize and execute long term strategic plans and tactical plans to capture business opportunities within the footprint of SCB in HK
Business
• To expand SP customer base and increase customer turnover by providing professional services
• Responsible for advisory, distribution, and execution of CMPS SP products to PvB customers and RMs
• Translate the financial markets information and deliver excellent customer services by updating financial markets knowledge to PvB customers and RMs
Processes
• Achieve CMPS SP HK revenue target
• Responsible for SP product ideation, structuring, advisory and execution for PvB and Retail segment
• Assist to implement and upgrade of SP relevant dealing platforms
• Review and upgrade of existing SP product features / services / operations
• Conduct regular product update and trainings to RMs related to investment trend and investment opportunities
• Regular contact with RMs/IAs to agree with SP focus and investment strategy
• Participate in joint client meetings with RMs/IAs if required
• Work closely with other CMPS teams to drive same business focus
People & Talent
• Ensure CMPS structured products desk having a highly trained and experienced pool of specialists / dealers
Risk Management
• Identify, monitor, manage and control business, operations, governance and compliance risk with regards to CMPS HK business
• Ensure conformity with the relevant internal and external rules and regulations
Governance
• Working through the Business Risk Team, ensure adherence to the ORMAF in the identification, assessment, mitigation and control and monitoring of risk. Ensure sufficient traction and follow through management actions to mitigate identified operational risk exposure. This will include all CSTs, KRIs, and other OR initiatives are properly managed.
• Ensure all products have the necessary Cas, Product Approval and DOI
• Ensure the team adhere to FM Code of Conduct, and have the necessary certifications and training.
