Job Summary
Provide investment and product advice to UHNW clients with key focus on product and solution suitability. Work with the key RMs to increase share of wallet and to achieve AuM and revenue goals. Take an active role in development of new advisory services and products. Provide input to the Investment Strategy and product development. Assume direct management responsibility for all of the GCNA Asia based IAs. Drive IA engagement with clients and business initiative and develop the overall growth of FX business. Ensure that IAs are on track to achieve KPIs listed in the IA score card and uphold our compliance and governance standards. Institutionalise IA client planning, and usage of analytics via Tableau. Ensure that IA book reflects the entirety of our overall investment & product proposition,
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Work closely with IA management team, sharing ideas and supporting product and service launch aimed at UHNW segment. Actively participate in client activity planning for personal and teams’ tagged accounts.
• Liaise closely with Regional Head of Private Bank GCNA Asia and the GCNA Asia Private Bank MT. Participate in development of investment sales initiatives. Assist actively in developing and delivering GCNA Asia Private Bank’s client and commercial agenda.
• Work closely with WM colleagues in MI and CMPS to develop and sustain a competitive investment proposition. Lead sales campaigns as required.
• Generating actionable investment ideas and designed suitable customized FX solutions for high-net-worth clients.
• Engaging relationship managers to deepen penetration of FX products with front office
Business
• Provide high quality investment advice to clients directly and to RMs, and inform them about suitable investments in the context of their portfolios
• Provide independent opinion on quality of client’s existing portfolio whilst ensuring consistency with House Views
• Help to determine/validate client’s risk appetite, investment preference and return expectations by partnering with RMs in client meetings
• Provide solutions for client’s product requests
• Drive investment penetration and growth in AuM and total Revenue
• Drive investment meetings with tagged RMs to promote Strategy Views and products
• Direct client investment support with suitable portfolios and investable product ideas
• Co-marketing and business development with RMs
• Organize / Participate in investment seminars for clients and prospects
Processes
• Actively participate in Global IA leadership team meetings and contribute perspective, views and action plans.
• Collaborate effectively with the Wealth Management team to deliver best product solutions to UHNW PvB clients.
• Provide product managers ideas for new products driven by client needs
• Review product for viability within client portfolios
• Support the continuous improvement of processes to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to the framework for effective management of operational risks across the Business and in compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations at a global level.
• Ensure delivery of Business strategy in a safe and well-controlled manner and on an end-to-end basis.
• Ensure sales management and suitability processes are applied appropriately
• Adherence to all relevant regulatory responsibilities.
People & Talent
• Deploy effective guidance and coach junior IAs through effective leadership and engagement to deliver against the financial, non-financial and risk/control objectives.
Risk Management
• Act as the second line of defence that clients are treated fairly.
• Understand the risk and control environment within area of responsibility and drive rectification as required.
• Ensure effective implementation of Risk Management framework throughout the organisation:
• Risk appetite is clear and integral to the strategy with appropriate controls
• Ensure that Risk Management matters that are brought to attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting to the relevant Risk Committees.
Governance
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
• Provide relevant input into the formulation and effective execution of rules, policies and procedures applicable to Investment Advisory.
• Appropriate representation at Local Client Committee and other relevant committees for Investment Advisory.
