Job Summary

•    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Release Engineering Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the release process of our bank software products, ensuring smooth and successful deployments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and employ industry best practices to optimize our release management processes.

Strategy

•    The release engineering process begins with planning. This involves defining release goals, determining the scope of the release, identifying the features and enhancements to be included, and establishing a timeline for the release.

•    Release Management: Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end release process, including version control, build management, packaging, and deployment of software releases.


Business

•    Having knowledge on below release engineer's activity and enhancing the bank's release engineering process.
•    Build Automation: Develop and maintain build automation scripts and tools to streamline the compilation, build, and packaging processes.
•    Continuous Integration and Deployment: Implement and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines, enabling automated testing, integration, and deployment of software releases.
•    Configuration Management: Manage and maintain configuration settings for development, test, and production environments, ensuring consistency across various environments.
•    Version Control: Administer version control systems, manage code branches, and ensure proper merging of changes across the codebase.
•    Release Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive release documentation, including release notes, installation guides, and troubleshooting guides.
•    Release Coordination: Coordinate release activities with stakeholders, including developers, testers, project managers, and operations teams, to ensure effective planning and execution of software releases.

•    The release engineering process is a series of steps and activities aimed at managing and facilitating the deployment of software releases. It involves coordinating the various tasks and stakeholders involved in the release process to ensure smooth and successful deployments. 

•    Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance release engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize efficiency and quality

•    It involves coordinating the various tasks and stakeholders involved in the release process to ensure smooth and successful deployments. 

•    Develop an efficient deployment process by Identify and propagate best industry practices and processes.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
•    Proven experience in release engineering or a similar role, managing software release processes in a fast-paced environment.
•    Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
•    Hands-on experience on Azure DevOps is preferrable.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deep dive and identify release process improvement opportunities.
•    Strong troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve issues during the release process.
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
•    Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple releases concurrently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
•    Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment practices and tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins Pipelines
•    Proficiency in version control systems, such as Git or SVN, and experience with branching and merging strategies.
