Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Junior Database Administrator (DBA) / Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing day to day database tasks for relational databases. This role requires a proactive individual who are eager to learn & adapt on new technologies and database infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for:
•    Manage, monitor, and maintain databases across multiple environments.
•    Maintain database schemas, indexes, and ensure database availability.
•    Ensure the availability of database backups & troubleshoot if any failures.
•    Perform regular database patching and upgrades to ensure systems are up to date with the latest security & vulnerabilities identified.
•    Collaborate with development teams and support them on database related queries.
•    Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and processes.
•    Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our data infrastructure.

•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•    4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on AWS RDS, RDBMS.
•    Experience with relational databases such as Oracle & PostgreSQL.
•    Knowledge in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
•    Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
•    Familiarity with database security best practices.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
•    Reporting Tools & Technical Documentation: Experience with reporting tools and have ability to document of technical details/tasks/etc
•    Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing requirements and environments.
