Job Summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Application Support Manager to join our production support organization. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in application support with deep expertise in SAP BTP platform services and production operations. As a senior technical specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level technical leadership, managing complex production issues, driving operational excellence, and serving as the subject matter expert for SAP BTP platform support across the bank's technology landscape

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Application Support Manager to join our production support organization. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in application support with deep expertise in SAP BTP platform services and production operations. As a senior technical specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level technical leadership, managing complex production issues, driving operational excellence, and serving as the subject matter expert for SAP BTP platform support across the bank's technology landscape

Key Responsibilities
Senior Technical Specialist & Subject Matter Expert:
•    Serve as the primary technical authority and subject matter expert for SAP BTP platform services and applications
•    Provide expert-level technical guidance and consultation to support teams, development teams, and stakeholders
•    Lead complex technical problem resolution and root cause analysis for critical production issues
•    Drive technical innovation, process improvements, and automation initiatives
•    Mentor and provide technical coaching to junior support specialists (Band 7-9) through knowledge sharing
•    Act as technical escalation point for complex SAP BTP platform issues
Advanced Production Support Operations:
•    Own end-to-end technical resolution of complex production incidents and problems
•    Lead Major Incident Management (MIM) technical response and coordinate critical incident resolution
•    Perform advanced troubleshooting, performance analysis, and system optimization
•    Ensure 24x7 production support coverage through technical expertise and guidance
•    Drive proactive monitoring, alerting, and preventive maintenance initiatives
•    Maintain system availability targets (99.7%+) through technical excellence and optimization

SAP BTP Platform Technical Leadership:
•    Provide expert-level support for SAP BTP services including HANA Cloud, Datasphere, Analytics Cloud
•    Lead technical implementation and optimization of SAP Identity Authentication Service, Cloud Transport Management
•    Drive technical excellence for SAP Business Application Studio, Workzone, and BTP foundation services
•    Coordinate complex technical issues with SAP support and provide technical leadership
•    Lead platform optimization, performance tuning, and capacity management initiatives
Advanced Change & Release Management:
•    Provide technical leadership for Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and complex production changes
•    Lead technical aspects of release deployments and coordinate complex go-live support activities
•    Drive technical excellence in Cloud Transport Management (CTM) configurations and transport governance
•    Ensure technical quality and risk assessment for production changes
•    Lead automation initiatives to improve deployment efficiency and reduce technical risks
Technical Strategy & Innovation:
•    Drive technical strategy and roadmap for SAP BTP platform support operations
•    Lead evaluation and implementation of new technologies, tools, and processes
•    Provide technical input for architectural decisions and platform evolution
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational transformation
•    Lead technical documentation, knowledge management, and best practices development

Required Qualifications
Experience:
•    Minimum 10 years of experience in application production support with strong technical leadership
•    At least 6-7 years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP platform and services
•    Deep expertise in SAP HANA Cloud, Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud support operations
•    Proven track record in leading complex technical problem resolution and system optimization
•    Experience in advanced incident management, root cause analysis, and technical process improvement
•    Banking or financial services domain experience strongly preferred
SAP BTP Technical Expertise:
•    Platform Services: Expert-level knowledge of SAP AI Core, Business AI, Datasphere, HANA Cloud, Analytics Cloud
•    Infrastructure: Deep expertise in SAP BTP Foundation Services, Cloud Foundry, Connectivity Services
•    Integration: Advanced knowledge of Cloud Transport Management, SAP Cloud Connector, API management
•    Security: Expert-level understanding of Identity Authentication Service, Identity Access Governance
•    Monitoring: Advanced skills in application monitoring, performance tuning, alerting systems, and observability

Advanced Technical Skills:
•    Database Management: Expert-level SAP HANA administration, SQL optimization, performance tuning
•    System Administration: Advanced Linux/Unix systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, and security
•    Monitoring & Automation: Expert-level monitoring tools, log analysis, automation scripting
•    DevOps & CI/CD: Advanced knowledge of DevOps practices, automation, and deployment pipelines
•    Scripting & Programming: Advanced scripting capabilities (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
Leadership & Communication Skills:
•    Strong technical leadership abilities with experience mentoring technical teams
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with complex technical issues
•    Strong communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement
•    Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives
•    Experience in technical process improvement and innovation
Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
•    SAP BTP certifications (HANA Cloud, Datasphere, Analytics Cloud, BTP Foundation)
•    ITIL Expert certification or equivalent service management qualifications
•    Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
•    Knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management
•    Experience with advanced monitoring tools, APM solutions, and observability platforms

•    Vendor Technical Liaison: Lead technical discussions with SAP support and other vendors
