Job Summary
Treasury works closely with senior management, the businesses, Country CEOs / CFOs, and Finance to manage and promote the bank’s liquidity, capital, and balance sheet position. Treasury is laser-focussed on its vision to be “Open, progressive and trusted, working commercially with our partners” to create sustainable value by balancing the supply and demand of liquidity and capital.
This role is part of Treasury India, which is evolving to become a world-class capability centre supporting global Treasury across Liquidity, Capital, IRRBB, FTP and Balance Sheet Management.
The India Hub’s mandate is to deliver integrated analytics, forward-looking insights and process transformation, enabling Treasury to operate with greater speed, control and commercial effectiveness.
This role is specifically focused on re-engineering core Treasury processes using AI, advanced analytics and modern engineering tools. The objective is to significantly reduce manual effort, improve turnaround times, and enable scalable, data-driven decision making.
The successful candidate will operate as a Specialist, Balance Sheet Management (BSM) supporting Balance Sheet Simulator (BSS) platform.
The role will help deliver integrated Treasury simulations across Liquidity, Capital, NII and Balance Sheet Management, supporting global Treasury stakeholders with scenario execution, model interpretation, data quality controls, user enablement and process transformation.
The successful candidate will require strong analytical financial modelling capability, hands-on platform execution experience, and the ability to explain simulation outputs clearly to business, Finance, Risk, Technology and Data stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Support the evolution of BSS as a scalable Treasury simulation capability across Liquidity, Capital, NII and Balance Sheet Management.
• Contribute to the Treasury India capability centre agenda by helping improve speed, control, automation and data-driven decision making in core Treasury processes.
• Support process transformation initiatives, including reduction of manual effort, improved data quality controls, automation of recurring activities and improved user self-service.
• Translate business needs into clear platform requirements, working with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Data and Technology teams to improve BSS adoption and usability.

Business
• Execute, support and explain BSS simulations for key Treasury use cases including Corporate Plan, Outlook, Funding Plan, Management Stress Test, NII scenario planning and liquidity forecasting.
• Analyse the impact of balance sheet assumptions, interest rate movements, funding mix, liquidity assumptions and capital metrics on simulation outputs.
• Provide structured insight on simulation results, including key drivers, variances, reconciliations, assumptions and limitations.
• Support stakeholders in understanding BSS outputs and using the platform effectively for planning, forecasting and scenario analysis.
Processes
• Run and support end-to-end BSS simulation processes, including scenario setup, parameter configuration, data validation, output checks, result publication and follow-up analysis.
• Perform data diagnostics and reconciliation across upstream sources, BSS inputs and simulation outputs, escalating issues where required.
• Maintain robust documentation of simulation assumptions, process steps, controls, issue logs and user guidance.
• Support automation and simplification of manual overlays, adjustment processes, data quality checks and recurring simulation activities.
• Help reduce reliance on system administrators by enabling controlled user execution and clearer operating procedures
People & Talent
• Provide knowledge transfer, training and platform guidance to Treasury users and new team members.
• Translate complex modelling concepts into clear, practical user workflows and reusable documentation.
• Work collaboratively across locations and functions, including Treasury, Finance, Risk, Technology, Data and platform teams.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and service excellence.

Risk Management
• Identify, investigate and escalate data quality, modelling, process and control issues that may affect BSS outputs.
• Support design and execution of controls over simulation inputs, assumptions, adjustments and outputs.
• Ensure assumptions, adjustments and output reconciliations are transparent, auditable and appropriately documented.
• Support issue resolution where discrepancies arise from aggregation, weighting, taxonomy mapping, model assumptions or source data limitations.
Governance
• Maintain process discipline around scenario setup, version management, data validation, manual adjustments and results publication.
• Contribute to governance routines, issue tracking and prioritisation forums for BSS enhancements and production support.

Qualifications
• Degree in Finance (MBA) / Economics / Data Science/ Quantitative fields from a reputed institution.
• Finance Professionals (Qualified Chartered Accountant) or Certifications like FRM, PRM or CFA is advantageous
• Over 15+ years proven experience in Treasury Finance, Balance Sheet Management, Asset & Liability Management and/or Finance / Risk with strong Prudential Regulation, Balance Sheet & Sources / Uses of Funding from top-tier banks / consultancy firms
• Experience in Treasury, Balance Sheet Management, Liquidity, Capital, NII, IRRBB, FTP, financial planning, regulatory reporting, product control, risk management or banking analytics.
• Hands-on experience with financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, stress testing or simulation platforms.
• Experience in data analysis, data architecture, data transformations, building end to end inhouse data flows (pipes) from source to output, in a bank environment is advantageous
• Experience in dealing with strong stakeholders, both quantitatively and qualitatively.
• Ability and proven leadership skills to lead large teams across multiple locations.
• Good stakeholder management, able to see the commercial value on business intent whilst able to translate the impact on funding sources.
• Ability to think objectively and commercially to help identify solutions to potential problems or emerging risks on the horizon via funding simulations and contingency planning
• Experience with writing and presenting qualitative papers and presenting a plan, and reasons for deviations to that plan to Executive/ Board level.
• Ability to scope and conduct data intensive numerical studies and present the results in a concise and clear manner to audiences.
• Able to work independently yet a great team player.
