Job Summary

  • We are seeking a talented and passionate, senior individual to join Standard Chartered as the Associate Director, Domain Architect – Process Tooling in the Group Transformation Office (“GTO”).
  • The Group Transformation Office drives and executes the overall strategic transformation agenda. The team works under the guidance of the Global Head, Transformation, Chief Transformation, Technology and Operations Officer and Transformation, Technology and Operations (“TTO”) MT. The office also collaborates closely with senior business and functional leaders across the Bank to build and drive the Bank-wide transformation. Operational Excellence (“OE”) Process Management is an integral part of the Group Transformation Office, and this role provides thought leadership and steer to Bank-wide Operational Excellence efforts in close partnership with senior management. The role requires driving holistic change by coaching and empowering people through multiple levers including process taxonomy & constructs, process reengineering, structural 
  • changes, digitisation, policy streamlining, targets and tracking, training, and accountability.
  • Specifically, this role supports the Director, Senior Domain Architect – Process Tooling in demand management of all process tooling related topics and complex assignments as part of OE task force. The role also supports training leadership and colleagues on the OE process management framework; supports the engagement of the Community of Practice across the bank; coaches’ community to structurally link process with other business / IT elements, and derives insights based on these structural linkages to support top OE priorities and GTO functions for gap, change and impact analysis.
  • The Associate Director, Domain Architect – Process Tooling is a global role based out of India. This role is the gateway to all enterprise process tooling related rollout and change management requirements. The role ensures user awareness/expertise/adoption of tooling across senior management to expert levels; service level compliance for functionality/configuration changes or enhancements; technical operations and piloting new use cases of the tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Awareness of / understand the wider TTO, GTO, and OE strategy and how it relates to Process Management
  • Support the formulation of Bank’s OE Process Management strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic business outcomes
  • Support the Director, Senior Domain Architect – Process Tooling on assignments to achieve target outcomes including driving broad bank-wide process-mindset shift and cultural transformation
  • Brand ambassador of the OE Process Tooling in the bank, and help embed bank wide culture of sustainable continuous improvement

Business

Contribute to and/or support the Director, Senior Domain Architect – Process Tooling on the following:

  • On-boarding user community of large complex assignments on enterprise process tooling, including:
    • Train super-users on related tooling features in context of OE framework
    • Create and manage data capturing / modelling / dashboarding workspace as needed
    • Migrate approved existing content to tooling as per standards (leveraging automated solutions)
  • After-care of user community including:
    • Coaching and consult on content administration
    • Enable tooling solutions for content capturing /modelling experts and end-users to self-service on content quality assurance as per standards
  • Maintain metamodel and tooling related knowledge base and FAQs on team site

Processes

Contribute to and/or support the Director, Senior Domain Architect – Process Tooling on the following:

  • Service level compliance for tooling configuration, incident management, service level monitoring, IT risk/
  • Security management, license/content/asset lifecycle management, tooling release upgrade, QA on third party scripts
  • Service level compliance for deployment of solutions towards:
    • content change release and publication
    • aggregated reporting on content completion tracking, usage, content reuse, QA summary, gap, and impact analysis
    • other approved change requests
  • ​​​Maintenance of tooling standards (incl. configuration of method, portal, QA; scripting; user access)
  • Technical in-take, feasibility run and pilot for new use-cases of business modelling tooling
  • Oversight and decision making on business modelling metamodel and configuration architecture along with functional interfaces to other group applications
  • Technical on-boarding and after-care of tooling capabilities across various bank BUs / functions
  • Ensure the required skills and resources for tooling usage in all functions; support the recruitment, training, and development of regional integration experts
  • As required, act as the SME for the Community of Practice in technical topics related to process tooling

Risk Management

  • Ensure that OE’s proposed changes/reengineering don’t compromise existing risks and controls and where required strengthen them 
  • Engage process and risk control owners upfront in design of process changes. Have oversight of direct tracking and monitoring of projects 

Governance

  • Contribute to the metamodel, standards and service levels for enterprise process tooling
  • Contribute to Tooling operational resilience, configuration, and technical rollout
  • Support the development and operationalisation of content lifecycle management in tooling based on self-service approach
  • Support the technical implementation of Process Tooling to support OE and/or Business objectives and outcomes
  • Be aware and understand the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Qualifications

Languages - Business Level English – Oral and Written

  • 5+ years’ experience in partnering process tooling rollout across large complex business environments
  • Working experience in software Design, Development, Testing & Maintenance
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, PHP, .NET or similar object-oriented languages and scripts
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Object-Oriented Programming
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to challenge business/technical requirements to build scalable and robust solutions
  • Good project management skills with close attention to detail
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Confident and engaging communication skills across all levels of seniority
  • Experience working in large global organisations with multiple value chains
