The CSS PET SRE function has evolved from a traditional production support capability into a strategic Site Reliability Engineering function responsible for ensuring operational resilience across multiple cyber security platforms supporting the Bank’s critical security controls. The portfolio now spans EESP, VMIS and ASA, with significant expansion planned over the next 12–24 months through new platform onboarding, strategic transformation programmes, and ownership transitions from delivery teams into PET SRE. As the operational landscape grows in scale and complexity, the existing role has expanded significantly beyond traditional SRE responsibilities and now requires higher levels of technical leadership, governance, stakeholder management, and enterprise-wide operational accountability.

Technical Knowledge/Domain Skills:
•    Advanced level proficiency in technical/domain skills
•    Broad and/or deep understanding of sophisticated or specialized aspects
•    Experience applying skills in the full range of typical situations and some more complex contexts

Leadership Skills:
•    Core to Advanced level leadership skills are expected
•    As you move up the bands, leadership skills become increasingly important alongside technical expertise

Key Responsibilities

Supporting applications 
•    EESP, Data Security, VMIS & ASA sub domain all applications.
Impact of not having the backfill.
Failure to upgrade the role and expand the capability introduces material risks:
•    Increased operational risk during large-scale platform migrations
•    Delayed onboarding of strategic security services
•    Higher probability of production incidents and extended recovery times
•    Reduced engineering governance during change implementation
•    Increased dependency on a limited number of critical SMEs
•    Challenges in attracting and retaining experienced Lead SRE talent
•    Reduced resilience across critical cyber security platforms supporting the Bank

Skills and Experience

Skills Required:
The Lead SRE role is accountable for:

•    AIVM
•    Qualys Guard
•    Sonatype
•    End-to-end production stability across EESP, VMIS and ASA platforms
•    Major Incident leadership
•    Problem Management
•    Production Governance
•    Operational Risk Management
•    Change Governance
•    Service Availability Management

Rather than simply supporting production, the role owns operational resilience for security platforms protecting the Bank.Vulnerability Management :
•    Experience with tools such as Qualys, SonaType Nexus Repository, Aqua
•    Patch management workflows.
•    Risk prioritization based on CVSS scoring and asset criticality.
•    Ability to correlate vulnerabilities with business impact.
Operating Systems:
•    Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments
Technical Skills
•    Scripting skills preferred (e.g., Rundeck, Python)
•    COP Tools, ITRS 
Network & security:
•    Basic understanding of firewalls and firewall rules
Documentation & Reporting:
•    Creating incident and compliance reports
•    Maintaining SOPs and playbooks for common security events or other technical issues

Qualifications

•    postgraduate with security products exposure
•    At least 15 - 20 years hands-on experience preferably with CSS applications and vulnerability management.
•    Demonstrated experience in managing production server security in 24*7 support models.
•    Experience working in Service now, ITSM tools or SOC environments is a strong plus.
•    Any industry certifications such as Comp TIA Security + or equivalent preferred
