Job Summary
- Support first-line oversight of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) across Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB), ensuring vendor, non-vendor, outsourcing and intragroup arrangements are managed safely across onboarding, ongoing monitoring, renewal, material change and exit.
- Implementation of Group policy, standards and regulatory obligations into proportionate business controls, governance, management information and clear accountability for Business Process Owners and Contract Owners.
- Strengthen the control environment by identifying emerging and systemic risks, challenging control effectiveness, driving timely remediation and supporting informed risk decisions that protect clients, operational resilience and the Bank.
- Partner with cross functional 1st and 2nd line teams related to Third-Party Risk to resolve any integrated risks impacting WRB
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Align to Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) strategic agenda and aid WRB in growing responsibly, supported by processes that allow faster and safer delivery of WRB products in a commensurate control environment.
Business
- Oversee the end-to-end third-party lifecycle, including sourcing and onboarding, risk identification and assessment, materiality, due diligence, contracting, service and performance reviews, periodic reassessment, renewal, change, continuity and exit.
- Ensure applicable risk assessments and evidence are complete, accurate, approved and retained for areas including information and cyber security, data privacy, operational resilience, business continuity, financial crime, regulatory compliance and reputational risk.
- Deliver thematic reviews, sampling and control testing across performance indicators and lifecycle records e.g. Service Review Meetings (SRM), Exit Management Plans (EMP), Third Party Continuity Plans (TPCP), subcontractor oversight, - including track findings through sustainable closure.
Risk Management & Governance
- Monitor risk appetite measures, key risk indicators, overdue obligations, incidents, material events, concentration risk and emerging threats; escalate significant issues promptly through the appropriate governance forums.
- Lead root-cause analysis, remediation planning and closure validation for control gaps, audit findings and risk issues, ensuring actions address underlying causes and demonstrate operating effectiveness.
- Produce concise, decision-useful management information for senior management, risk committees and assurance teams, clearly setting out exposure, trends, control weaknesses, mitigations, accountable owners and target dates.
- Continuously improve the WRB Third Party Risk Management framework, operating model and oversight approach in alignment with Group policy, standards, risk appetite and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Provide clear, forward-looking risk advice and effective challenge to stakeholders for WRB Third-Party e.g. materiality, outsourcing, risk acceptance, dispensations, emerging threats and strategic third-party decisions.
- Maintain an accurate and consolidated risk profile across Third-Party arrangements, with transparent ownership, escalation thresholds and governance pathways.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Partner with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Operational and Technology Risk (OTCR), Risk Group Stakeholders - Legal, Compliance and Financial Crime, Operational Resilience, Information and Cyber Security, Data Privacy and Country teams to resolve cross-functional risks and deliver consistent outcomes.
- Represent WRB in enterprise Third Party Risk Management transformation, data and platform initiatives; define business requirements, support implementation and verify that new controls operate effectively.
- Build Contract Owner and business capability through role-based guidance, training, targeted communications and practical support, while reinforcing clear accountability for lifecycle compliance and evidence quality.
