Job Summary

The Director, FCSO Screening Process Manager supports the Screening Global Process Owner in the strategic management, design, implementation, optimisation and ongoing enhancement of the Bank's end-to-end Screening processes across Name Screening, Transaction Screening and emerging screening use cases.
The primary focus of the role is to drive continuous improvement of the Screening operating model, ensuring that processes remain effective, efficient, scalable, regulatory compliant and aligned to the Bank's financial crime risk management objectives. This includes ownership of the end-to-end screening lifecycle, identification and remediation of process inefficiencies, optimisation of controls and workflows, reduction of operational friction, and implementation of process improvements to strengthen screening outcomes.
The role holder works closely with Operations, Technology, Data, Product and Financial Crime stakeholders to assess process performance, identify opportunities for simplification and standardisation, and deliver enhancements that improve effectiveness across the screening ecosystem. A key objective of the role is to strengthen the earlier identification of financial crime risk through improved process design, enhanced data utilisation, effective decision-making workflows, stronger control execution and more efficient alert management practices.
The role is also responsible for establishing governance, metrics and feedback mechanisms to monitor process performance, identify emerging risks, drive continuous improvement and ensure that screening capabilities evolve in line with regulatory expectations, financial crime threats and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy
•    Drive the strategic development and continuous improvement of the Bank's end-to-end Screening processes, ensuring they remain effective, scalable, compliant and aligned to the Bank's financial crime risk management objectives.
•    Define and execute process improvement roadmaps that strengthen screening effectiveness, accelerate the implementation of regulatory and sanctions requirements, and support the onboarding of new products, customer segments, geographies and payment flows.
•    Champion a continuous improvement culture across Screening by leveraging process performance metrics, stakeholder feedback, root cause analysis and data-driven insights to identify, prioritise and deliver process enhancements and optimisation initiatives.
•    Drive process improvements that enable earlier identification of financial crime risk by enhancing process design, data quality, alert quality, decision-making workflows and overall risk-detection effectiveness, while reducing false positives and unnecessary operational effort.
•    Maintain awareness of emerging financial crime threats, regulatory developments, industry best practices and technological advancements to identify opportunities to strengthen Screening processes, controls and operating models, and improve risk outcomes across the Bank.

Business


•    Own and oversee the Bank's end-to-end Screening processes, ensuring associated controls, procedures, governance and documentation remain effective, compliant and aligned to business, operational and regulatory requirements.
•    Lead the assessment, prioritisation and delivery of process improvements, new screening use cases, onboarding initiatives and change activities, ensuring processes support effective financial crime risk management across products, channels, customer segments and geographies.
•    Establish and maintain robust process governance, including oversight of regulatory commitments, audit actions, operational risk obligations, procedures, standards and control frameworks relevant to Screening activities.
•    Monitor process performance and outcomes through defined metrics, stakeholder engagement and operational feedback loops, driving continuous improvements to screening effectiveness, workflow efficiency, alert quality, data quality and operational decision-making.
•    Act as a subject matter expert on Screening processes and operating models, translating emerging financial crime threats, regulatory developments and industry best practices into process enhancements that improve risk detection, strengthen control effectiveness, accelerate regulatory responsiveness and reduce unnecessary operational effort.

Leadership and Management

•    Champion a culture of process excellence across the end-to-end Screening lifecycle, ensuring focus remains on improving risk detection outcomes, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and control effectiveness.
•    Lead and influence stakeholders across Business, Operations, Technology and CFCC to deliver process improvements, strategic change initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.
•    Drive a data-led approach to process optimisation, leveraging performance metrics, stakeholder feedback and operational insights to enhance screening effectiveness, improve workflow efficiency, reduce false positives and support earlier identification of financial crime risk.

Knowledge Development and Information Management


•    Develop and maintain meaningful process and risk MI, KPIs and performance metrics to measure Screening effectiveness, identify trends, monitor process performance and support data-driven decision making.
•    Analyse process performance, stakeholder feedback and operational outcomes to identify opportunities for process simplification, optimisation, automation and improved risk detection.
•    Promote effective knowledge sharing and documentation of process improvements, lessons learned, industry developments and regulatory expectations to support continuous improvement across the Screening operating model.


Stakeholder Relations


•    Build and maintain strong partnerships across Operations, Technology, Data and CFCC stakeholders to ensure Screening processes remain aligned to business needs, regulatory expectations and financial crime risk objectives.
•    Represent the Screening function in engagements with regulators, industry forums, peer institutions and strategic vendors, leveraging external insights and best practices to strengthen Screening processes, controls and operating models.

 

Processes


•    Establish and maintain robust process governance across the end-to-end Screening lifecycle, covering process design, implementation, execution, monitoring, optimisation and ongoing maintenance, ensuring activities remain effective, compliant and fit for purpose.
•    Define and oversee process management standards, including change management, issue remediation, performance monitoring, workflow optimisation, control effectiveness reviews and continuous improvement activities.
•    Ensure Screening procedures, controls, operating models and supporting documentation are maintained in line with regulatory requirements, Group standards and financial crime risk management objectives.
•    Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate Screening processes to improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls and support sustainable business growth.

People & Talent


•    Foster a high-performance culture focused on process excellence, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the Screening function.
•    Develop team capabilities in process optimisation, workflow design, screening operations, data-driven decision making and financial crime risk management to support evolving business and regulatory requirements.
•    Provide clear leadership, coaching and direction to ensure roles, responsibilities and priorities are well understood, enabling effective execution of Screening processes and strategic objectives.

Risk Management


•    Own and oversee financial crime risks associated with the end-to-end Screening process, ensuring controls remain effective in identifying sanctions, AML and other financial crime risks across customers, transactions and products.
•    Drive continuous optimisation of Screening effectiveness through analysis of risk outcomes, alert quality, data quality, operational performance and control effectiveness, improving risk detection while reducing false positives and operational inefficiencies.
•    Assess and manage risks arising from new products, customer segments, payment flows, geographies and regulatory requirements, ensuring appropriate Screening processes and controls are designed and implemented.
•    Maintain oversight of key Screening inputs, including data sources, watchlists, regulatory content and process controls, ensuring activities remain current, accurate and aligned to evolving risk and regulatory expectations.
•    Strengthen the operational resilience of Screening processes through effective risk management, control monitoring, issue remediation, incident management and governance, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of material risks and control weaknesses.

Governance


•    Establish and maintain effective governance over the end-to-end Screening operating model, ensuring clear accountability, oversight and reporting of process performance, risks, issues and strategic improvement initiatives.
•    Oversee the identification, tracking, escalation and remediation of process, operational and financial crime risk issues, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings, regulatory actions, incidents and control weaknesses.
•    Drive a culture of continuous improvement by capturing, communicating and embedding lessons learned from audits, assurance reviews, incidents, regulatory feedback and process performance assessments into future process enhancements and control design.
•    Ensure governance forums, decision-making processes, escalation pathways and performance reporting support effective oversight of Screening activities and promote sustainable improvements in risk and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

Education
•    Graduate / basic qualifications in banking/ finance/ audit/ systems
•    Minimum 8 years of experience in Banking and out of which 4 years in managerial capacity leading both direct and in-direct teams across global/regional footprints; 
•    Solid record of accomplishment of running effective and efficient surveillance process, product management in FCC highly desirable;  
•    Transaction Processing background in one or multiple areas (e.g.., Payments, Collections, Trade Products, Security Services, Financial Markets, Clearing Networks like SWIFT, CHAPS, CHIPS, RTGS etc) would be an added advantage
Certifications
•    ACAMS or equivalent preferred but not necessary
