Key Responsibilities
Transaction Banking Group Product Management is hiring a Director Payments Product who will direct and influence the development of our Cash payment product to ensure alignment to Business, Regulatory compliance across the bank’s footprint.
Standard Chartered is investing significantly in its transaction banking capabilities to meet clients and business needs globally whilst increasing operational efficiency and deliver best in-class transaction banking products. In this role the individual will be responsible for identifying opportunities, validating business case and leading agile squads to deliver solutions to meet our changing business and client requirements within the High Value Payments product.
Your priorities will span across products for corporate Cash management solutions, ensuring compliance with evolving Business & Regulatory requirements while enhancing user experience. You will also be leading partnership initiatives within the bank and externally within the financial eco-system with Client, Regulators, processors, service providers, etc.
High Value Payment Product Development & Management:
• Interpretation of new business discretionary and regulatory changes, along with regional product managers, and assess the impact on existing Cash Management products related to CBPR+, HVPS / RTGS, ISO 20022 adoption,
• Validate independently the business case for new requests tabled to the Group Product team within the Product Lifecycle framework
• Work independently to manage and deliver the change ensuring no regulatory breaches (including articulation of detailed use-cases, solutioning and agile delivery).
• Defining operating model in conjunction with Operations, Client Implementation teams, Client Service Group and Technology partners
• Adopt and embed both Change Delivery Standard (CDS) and Group’s Enterprise Software Delivery Lifecycle (eSDLC) throughout the lifecycle of the product. Ensure Product Lifecycle (PLC) standards are always adhered.
• Product Owner for Aglie Delivery - Owns, prioritizes, and maintains the product backlog within the Hive/ squads ensuring the highest-priority items are delivered first.
• Accountable for successful completion of discretionary and regulatory delivery including testing and production verification runs to ensure functionality matches compliance requirements while maintaining commercial viability
• Lead the prioritization and trade-off discussions with relevant stakeholders and offer strategic direction.
• Perform executive program reporting of progress update, risk, issues and mitigating actions to all required governance forums.
• Develop go-to-market material to support internal and external training, marketing and business development opportunities (if applicable) from the change.
• Manage a clearly defined, transparent and strategically prioritized book of work with Digital Channels, Regional product and technology teams.
Responsible for successful platform rollouts to countries
• Ensuring successful product implementation post technical implementation
• Ensuring adequate training and knowledge transfer to in-country users
• Support pilot client implementation
• Plan and manage client migration
Stakeholder Management
• Ensuring synchronisation of efforts across multiple stakeholders across Program Managers, Digital Channels, Operations, Compliance, Risk and Technology teams to ensure regulatory compliance is embedded into product design and operational process
• Maintain regular connect and engagement with key stakeholders periodically. Addressing stakeholder concerns and managing expectations
• Lead parallel teams to work towards optimising the product value based on continuous feedback and by refining the backlog.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Ensure adherence to all governance policies and framework in all aspects of deliverables. Complete all required governance and regulatory obligation and training where applicable
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Qualifications
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of payment related experience in Cash product management, with demonstrated ability to guide and manage platform renewal programmes.
• Good understanding of global cash management, experience working across multiple markets. Regulatory delivery across Cash products will be a plus.
• Prior experience on Payments Product is a plus.
• Working knowledge of ISOXML 20022 formats for Cash Management
• Good understanding of API and how these are used in the Banking sector
• Strong Product management, Project management, and analytical problem-solving skills and use of relevant tools
• Solid product management experience in implementing medium-large scale product enablers and platforms in the transaction banking area and across multiple countries.
• Ability to work to tight timelines and at the same time produces a quality deliverable.
• Strong product development and project management skills, including high attention to detail and facilitation experience
• Strong experience of working collaboratively and independently
• Proactive and independent in developing solutions to issues and challenges
• Strong business writing skills, communication and presentation skills
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and interpersonal skills; with clear demonstration of ability to work across markets, time zones and cultures.
