Job Summary
• Leads the implementation and oversight of enterprise risk and policy frameworks across LCS. The role provides strategic challenge and assurance to ensure legal, governance and related non‑financial risks are effectively managed in line with Group standards and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Continuously evaluate the strategy for implementation of the ERMF and O&TTRF across first and second lines in Legal and Group Corporate Secretariat (“LCS”)
• Develop strategy for management of legal risk, governance risk and non-legal risks impacting LCS
• Assist Group General Counsel, LCS MT and Global Head, Operations, LCS to develop global standards for legal risks and align risk assessment across regions and products
Business
• Support the Business and Regional Legal teams and Group Corporate Secretariat in relation to managing legal risk / governance risks (as applicable) where LCS is the risk owner for other businesses or functions
• Manage policy and standards to ensure ensuring effective implementation and oversight of documentation requirements and support development of DOIs
• Develop and maintain the templates universe to ensure oversight, consistency and alignment across processes
• Management and oversight of non-legal risks impacting the functions including data, privacy, information and cyber security and all conduct-related risk.
Processes
• Support LCS Heads to effectively manage operational risks where LCS is the Process Owner and where LCS is the Risk owner for other businesses and functions.
• Support the LCS function in the implementation of Operational Risk policies and standards and other relevant policies and standards including supervisory processes.
• Facilitate tracking of risk acceptances & requisite root cause reviews.
• Support the LCS Process Owners, Risk Owners and Policy Owners with the implementation of the Risk Control Self-Assessment Identify training needs and develop training materials to embed the Risk Management approach across Legal.
• Manage and facilitate to address requirements from Group Internal Audit / 2nd LOD Assurance / External Audits (as the case may be)
• Support Change Governance for LCS change initiatives
Risk Management
• Support LCS in providing challenge, guidance and oversight over first line of defence
• Lead in reviewing overall risk levels relating to the Legal and Governance Risk sub-type and where elevated, work with key stakeholders to engage with the first line of defence for timely risk reducing actions;
• Advise on approval of risk events, elevated residual risks and risk treatment plans based on thresholds/ authorities set out in the O&TRTF and other items as required in any country addendums to the O&TRTF, Policy and Standards
Governance
• Assist the Chair of Risk Forums in driving a focussed and relevant agenda
• Lead the Risk Control Self-Assessment for LCS across all risks.
• Support the Group General Counsel and LCS MT to fulfil their role as Risk Owner under the Group's Risk Management control processes, and the provision of relevant Management Information to allow data driven risk based residual risk
• Within the ERMF, establish and maintain an appropriate risk-based approach to assessing, measuring, monitoring, managing and reporting Legal and Governance Risk.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in banking field, with proven track record in risk management, project / initiative implementation, business analyst skills and resolving matters end to end to closure with the flexibility to adapt
• Ideally, knowledge of Banks policies and procedures relating to Legal and key risk areas/risk types would be a plus
• Keen, fast and adaptive learner
• High attention to detail and commitment to good work ethic
• Good stakeholder management and collaboration skills geographies and lines of business,
• Highly disciplined and structured with an outcome oriented and logical mindset and approach
• Able to work independently and also as part of a team
