Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Generative AI Lead to join our technology team at Band 5B level as a senior individual contributor. This technical leadership role requires a minimum of 14 years of hands-on experience in SAP technologies with deep expertise in SAP BTP platform and Generative AI solutions. The successful candidate will serve as a technical authority and strategic advisor, driving complex AI initiatives, providing architectural guidance, and delivering innovative solutions across the bank's SAP BTP ecosystem

Strategy
•    Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Generative AI Lead to join our technology team at Band 5B level as a senior individual contributor. This technical leadership role requires a minimum of 14 years of hands-on experience in SAP technologies with deep expertise in SAP BTP platform and Generative AI solutions. The successful candidate will serve as a technical authority and strategic advisor, driving complex AI initiatives, providing architectural guidance, and delivering innovative solutions across the bank's SAP BTP ecosystem

Strategic Technical Leadership:
•    Define and drive technical strategy for SAP BTP AI initiatives across Standard Chartered
•    Serve as the primary technical authority for complex SAP BTP AI architecture decisions
•    Lead technical feasibility assessments and provide expert guidance on AI solution design
•    Drive innovation in AI-powered banking solutions using cutting-edge SAP BTP capabilities
•    Champion responsible AI practices and ensure technical compliance with banking regulations

Solution Architecture & Design:
•    Architect and design large-scale, enterprise-grade AI solutions on SAP BTP platform
•    Lead the technical design of AI-powered applications using SAP AI Core, Business AI, and Datasphere
•    Design integration patterns for external AI services (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google AI) with SAP BTP
•    Ensure scalable, secure, and compliant AI solution architectures
•    Drive adoption of MLOps practices and AI model lifecycle management frameworks

Technical Delivery & Implementation:
•    Lead complex technical implementations of SAP BTP AI solutions
•    Provide hands-on technical guidance to development teams on complex AI challenges
•    Conduct technical reviews and ensure adherence to architectural standards
•    Oversee integration of AI capabilities with existing SAP landscape (S/4HANA, ECC, SuccessFactors)
•    Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design patterns, and best practices

Stakeholder Collaboration:
•    Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
•    Present technical concepts and solutions to senior management and technical committees
•    Work closely with architects, developers, and business analysts across multiple projects
•    Provide technical consultation to project teams and delivery leads
•    Mentor and guide junior technical team members through complex technical challenges.

Other Responsibilities
•    Solution Intent creation for different use cases across the SAP-BTP platform
•    Conduct multiple review discussions across multiple stakeholders in refining the Solution intent document
•    Get involved and help drive the overall SAP-BTP enablement including architectural and process recommendations across the portfolio
•    Proactively advice the management team on the emerging technology transformation trends that are most relevant to the company’s goals and evolving needs
•    High degree of proficiency in hands-on low-level design, coding, automation and troubleshooting
•    API, Microservices design expertise. Build reusable components / API’s when designing any foundational data project
•    Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
•    Identify, design and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability etc
•    Work with stakeholders including the executive, product, data and design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
•    Support transformation agenda, business operating models, standards, finance risk controls and compliance with regulations
•    Engage with various business and technology stakeholders, participate in agile squad’s to recommend and finalise architecture design. Manage key stakeholders and senior management for architecture decisions and inputs
•    Experience in establishing effective partnerships across teams and influence senior management, peers and subordinates
•    Working with business clients to understand their needs and to implement the cloud strategies designed to meet those needs.

•    Ensuring Security while on-boarding apps into Cloud
•    Design and architect comprehensive SAP solutions that integrate with Hadoop and other big data technologies.
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into Solution Intent documentation.
•    Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, technical documentation, and best practices for SAP and big data integrations.
•    Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
•    Stay updated with the latest advancements in SAP, Hadoop, and big data technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.
•    Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies

Experience:
•    Minimum 14 years of experience in SAP development and implementation
•    At least 8-10 years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP platform and services
•    Minimum 6-7 years of experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and Machine Learning
•    Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives as an individual contributor
•    Banking or financial services domain experience strongly preferred
•    Experience in technical leadership roles without people management responsibilities

•    Platform Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of SAP AI Core, Business AI, Datasphere, HANA Cloud, Analytics Cloud
•    Architecture: Deep understanding of enterprise architecture patterns for AI solutions on SAP BTP
•    Integration: Complex system integration across SAP landscape and external AI platforms
•    Development: Advanced skills in SAP BTP development tools (Business Application Studio, SAP Build)
•    Data Management: Expertise in SAP Datasphere, HANA Cloud, CDS Views, and data modeling
AI/ML Technical Expertise:
•    AI Platforms: Deep expertise in Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Llama), Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch
•    AI Services: Advanced experience with OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI, Google AI, Hugging Face, LangChain
•    AI Techniques: Expert-level skills in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG systems, and model optimization
•    MLOps: Experience with AI model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management
•    Development: Advanced programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Java
