• As a Platform Engineer you'd be able to work on and solve some of the many interesting challenges we are facing in Cloud deployment, automation and data management, learn new ways of working, and build delightful high-quality products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

• Knowledge of technology best practices for building a modern automated DevOps platform

Business

• Build and manage a modern, automated, cloud-native, continuous delivery pipeline.
• Build and manage resources across on-prem and cloud for our business to use.
• Understand and provide the security, compliance, regulation of banking systems.

Processes

• Good understanding of technologies and experience in building a highly scalable and fault tolerant system

People & Talent   

• Self-starter, capable of working without direction and able to deliver projects from scratch
• Proficiency in the development (Java/Groovy/Kotlin, springboot) and Strong scripting skills.
• DevOps toolchain experience (ADO, Gradle/Maven, Artifactory)
• Infrastructure as Code tools (Puppet/Ansible/Chef,Helm)
• Cloud computing deployment and management experience (AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure) via  (Terraform(preferred)/CloudFormation/Pulumi)
• Container management and container orchestration experience – Docker, Kubernetes.
• Monitoring tools Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX and TCP/IP Subnet.
• Strong understanding and practice Agile/Lean projects SCRUM, KANBAN etc.
• Practical knowledge with Git flow, Trunk and GitHub flow branching strategies.
• Strong English communication skills
• Distributed system knowledge applicable to a microservice architecture
• Breadth of knowledge – operating systems, networking, distributed computing, cloud computing

Risk Management

• Ensures area integrity, minimizes technical debt.

Governance

• Sets architectural direction for the area, performs code review for significant changes in the area & responsible for system governance activities

Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders

• Work with the team and other bank teams to ensure area integrity, system improvement and minimize technical debt.

• Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Messaging Platform; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats);
