Job Summary

Data scientist within the Legal & Co-Sec operations team is responsible for techno-functional data programming role of Data Store, Analysis & AI-backed product delivery. Job scope includes design, development & maintenance of Legal & Co-Sec Data Store & Reporting as well as Providing AI backed solutions. Functions include both new development as well as BAU support for legacy data products. Responsibilities include accurate & thorough documentation of data products. The ideal candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise, data mining, interpreting, and cleaning our data. This person will be relied on to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities for realizing the data’s full potential. As part of a team of specialists, the data scientist will “slice and dice” data using various methods and create new data visualisation. They must be able to design data visualisation and graphic elements, building the flow or navigational components in our dashboards to enhance the business user experience.
 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Collaborate with key function stakeholders and management to develop Data analytics and Data Visualization which will help support and drive strategic decision making. 
•    Define the data sourcing guidelines, target data definitions & data architecture for Legal & Co-Sec Data Store platform.
•    Enable creation of best practices, data delivery frameworks & data modelling guidelines for OTCR Risk.
•    Support the strategic & ad hoc data requirements of Legal & Co-Sec 

Business
•    Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement. 
•    Support the business by providing insights, reports and Data Dashboards that can be used to improve decision making and governance. 
•    Support best practices, solution frameworks & techniques to create a next-generation data solutions delivery organization
•    Liaise with the stakeholders to support data requirements & delivery
•    Work on data requirements & identification of golden sources for data attributes
•    Work on data delivery roadmaps in liaison with the CIO Teams & manage end-to-end data delivery

Processes
•    Analyse large volumes of data to objectively identify trends and draw appropriate conclusions.
•    Support the Lead of Reporting, Analytics and Data in Legal operations to deliver the Legal Analytics BAU reports, and other projects related to development and deployment of new Tools or applications. 
•    Conduct requirements gathering from key stakeholders on their reporting and MI needs, consolidating these requirements, creating mock ups, and then working with the data engineer on the data extracts required. 
•    Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Analyse opportunity for automation and provide input for the same & liaise with the technology on automation of reports through BI tools.
•    To ensure TAT, delivery SLA, and a high level of data accuracy & security. Update and maintain the process documents and DOIs for the team.
•    Assist with the production and on-going maintenance of detailed, accurate and consistent periodic reporting, including but not limited to, management accounts, month end financial results, monthly key performance indicators and capacity reporting.
•    Training end-users on new reports and dashboards.
•    Liaise with the wider data community & the CDO Office in establishing best practices, solution patterns & nimble data solutions. 
•    Perform horizon scanning on upcoming trends in data management practices, data science technologies & incorporate into ways of working.

Risk Management
•    Apply all relevant Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures to manage risks.
•    Conduct risk assessments and other risk management activities were relevant and required as part of the role and as per the banks standards and policies. 

Governance
•    In the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.
•    Training end-users on new reports and dashboards.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Data science/Analytics, or other data, business or analytical field of study.
•    6+ years of overall experience in a Data field.
•    4+ year or several projects with Data Dashboards Designing in BI Tool like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
•    Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
•    Proficient in SQL & Python Data Programming, Jupyter Notebook skills
•    Data Product Built/Delivery experience
•    Knowledge of Generative AI.
•    Advanced experience in pattern recognition, statistical algorithms and predictive modelling.
•    Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL, and programming languages (Python)
•    Good knowledge of reporting MI and/or dashboards/ dashboard technologies (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
•    Good level of experience in methodologies and processes for managing large data sets.
