Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The job fits within the Performance, Planning and Governance (PPG) team in Business Management (FCSO) reporting directly to the Director, FCSO Business Management Lead. Main responsibility is to support the PPG team by designing and developing scalable digital tools using SharePoint (SPFx) and Python. This role involves working closely with project manager and stakeholders to assess feasibility, recommend platforms, build prototypes, and implement solutions that enhance PPG functions. The developer will also maintain existing tools, ensure documentation compliance, and contribute to process improvement initiatives across PPG and FCSO

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Support the delivery of the strategic agenda for FCSO Performance, Planning & Governance.
Business
•    We support the Global Head, FCSO to define and ensure execution against planned FCSO strategies via the delivery of central BAU Value Add services which focuses on Operational Excellence and driving High Performance Culture across FCSO
Processes
•    Perfromance, Planning & Govrnance (PPG)
•    This role sits within the PPG team, which oversees:
•    Financial Management
•    Business Planning
•    Performance Mangement
•    Workforce Insights
•    Training & Communication
•    Inter/Intra Group Governance
•    The developer will contribute to digital enablement across these domains by building tools that support planning, analysis, and governance.
•    Collaborate with the Project Manager and function to understand project requirements and business context
•    Condcut feasibility analysis and recommend the most suitable platform (e.g., SharePoint, Python-based tools)
•    Desing and prototype tools aligned with business needs and user experience standards
•    Facilitate stakeholder walkthroughs, gather feedback, and iterate on design
•    Develop and tools within committed timelines
•    Ensure all relevant documentation is recorded and stored in prescribed project folders
•    Identify and propose process improvement opportunties within PPG or FCSO functions
•    Own and support existing projects within the PPG team – address clarifications, implement ehancements, and ensure continuity of solutions.

•    Mentor junior developers or peers on SPFx and Python.
•    Share knowledge through demos, documentation, and collaborative sessions
Risk Management
•    Flag and mitigate technical risks during desing and development.
•    Ensure compliance with data security and governance standards
•    Support risk tracking and escalation protocols.
•    Apply Group and FCC policies and processes (AML surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.
Governance
•    Adhere to coding standards, documentation protocols, and audit requirements
•    Maintain traceability of decisions and development artifacts
•    Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.
•    Support all control checks undertaken by FCC under the Operational Risk Framework (ORF).
•    Be accountable for identification and escalation of potential risks and issues to senior management through appropriate governance channels.
•    In the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.
•    Collate, analyse and interpret data in reports to senior management and relevant governance/risk committees.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Support FCSO Performance, Planning & Governance to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters
Key stakeholders
•    Engage with Project owners, Business analysts and Process Leads.
•    Coordinate with Infrastructure, and support teams
•    Communicate progress, blockers and feedback loops effectively.
Other Responsibilities
•    Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in FCSO Performance, Planning & Governance; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education
•    Academic or Professional Education / Qualifications; Degree with at least 6 to 8 years of working experience, preferably business management, Budgeting and target planning
Languages
•    English
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to negotiate internally with senior stakeholders. 
•    Organised, meticulous and self-driven.
•    An eye for details 
•    Strong ability to juggle multiple priorities, thrive under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
•    Ability to work in a flexible manner in line with the organisation objectives and willingness to undertake other duties as reasonably requested.
