Job Summary
This role is part of the Country Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) team, which deals with analysis of country performance, reviewing and highlighting risks and opportunities, and driving actions to ensure committed financial outcome. The primary responsibility is to collaborate with country finance teams to be able to provide insightful and relevant financial information to senior management and other stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
Processes
- Deliver Standard Performance MI with insights on current performance.
- Manage overall process of financial forecasting and planning, as well as other specific areas assigned to the team (e.g. Other Banking, Corporate Items).
- Ensure integrity of the financial performance results through keeping regular track of the numbers and their validity.
- Provide required support to country finance teams on various regular or ad-hoc submissions.
- Manage overall design and outcome of the end-to-end process and own the process output in terms of client service, financial performance and risk where appointed as Process Owners.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial returns to internal and external authorities and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous process improvements to achieve standardisation, efficiency and better controls.
- Support and contribute to key finance projects and process change agenda.
Risk Management
- Act to minimise operational loss and audit failures, take proactive measures to respond to any issues identified, and manage forward looking risks.
- Through assignment of direct and indirect reports, establish and maintain an appropriate framework and procedures for monitoring, identifying, measuring, assessing, reporting, and managing compliance, regulatory, financial crime, operational and reputational risks.
Governance
- Ensure compliance with Group / IFRS accounting principles and practices, Financial Control Policy and other guidelines.
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualifications
- CA, CFA, ACCA, MBA, MCom, BCom with a minimum of 4 years of experience (post qualification) in a financial service industry
- Experience in financial planning and analysis preferred
- Strong understanding of Banking business and products
- Strong process and data analytical skills
- Previous exposure to financial planning and analysis preferred
- Self-driven, ability to work effectively under pressure and produce high quality work within tight timelines
- Proven ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Previous exposure to ledger and reporting systems especially SAP preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
