Job Summary

This role is within the Corporate and Investment Banking business (“CIB”).  CIB business has a footprint across the globe with an annual >USD11 bn revenue and risk weighted assets around ~USD140bn. The asset portfolio comprises a wide variety of financial instruments.  The Business Performance Operations finance team supports the CFOs providing financial insights and performance and tracking progress of strategic initiatives.  The incumbent is expected to have forward looking mindset.
The Specialist Client MI is a key role within Business Performance Operations which delivers Client Profitability and insights to the business in driving the strategy and measuring the performance.

Broad areas covered within this role include
•    Functional Owner on Client Profitability logic and deliverables for the Country
•    Support Finance and Business teams in understanding the Client Profitability which are complex from data flow and logics and respond to queries.
•    Drive business engagement to create awareness and enhance user experience in resolving for the user queries.
•    Catalyst is enabling the users to adopt to new systems and process.
•    Strong understanding of CIB business requirements in engaging with Senior stakeholders and front-line business users.

Key Responsibilities

Business
Being an effective Information and Insights Partner, responsible to provide: 
•    Accurate and timely information availability in the Client MI systems
•    Proactive engagement with the user community in creating awareness and adopting changes.
•    Partnership with Country and Product Finance teams and other system team to enhance the Data quality of information in the system 

Processes
Being a Functional owner of the Client MI Profitability, responsible for: 
•    Champion of the process and able to connect front to back with complete process ownership
•    Implementing industry best practices on Performance Management, Forecasting and Business Analytics
•    Driving Continuous process improvement which drives efficiency and better control in all the Client MI 
•    Collaborating with other Business Performance leads to ensure standard and consistent MI is delivered to business across CIB
•    New ways to engage with the user community to provide enhanced user experience.
•    Build a strong data governance framework for Critical Data Element, Reconciliation to ledger etc.

Risk Management
•    Represent BPO in-Service Review engagements with CFOs, provide management insights and address any CFO level actions from the Review meetings
•    Act to minimize operational loss and audit failures and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising and identify and manage forward looking risks. 
•    Through assignment of direct and indirect reports, establish and maintain an appropriate framework and procedures for monitoring, identifying, measuring, assessing, reporting, and managing compliance, regulatory, financial crime, operational and reputational risks

Governance 
•    Build and review Governance framework around Standard MI, internal controls, adherence to policy to adherence to agreed risk appetite.

Qualifications

•    MBA, CA, CMA with minimum 3 years of experience (post qualification) in a financial service industry

•    Strong understanding of Product / Client Profitability in a Banking Domain.
•    Strong Stakeholder engagement and business communication including Frontline and Technology teams.
•    Data Skills to understand complex data flows and transformation.
•    Strategic mindset and with a good understanding of FP&A activities pertaining to Corporate and Investment Banking business.
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to make decisions. 
•    Excellent business judgment, operational control management and risk assessment. 
•    Experience in change and programme management and self-awareness to adopt varying approaches for different stakeholder dynamics. 
•    Results orientation, exceptional energy, and ambition to drive systems, technology and process
•    Strategic context with ability to work collaboratively within the Team and the Bank in formulating strategies involving sourcing and suppliers to deliver business value
