Job Summary

Role Overview

Hiring a hands-on Database resource with strong experience in both Oracle and PostgreSQL to manage non-production and production databases, optimize performance, and ensure high availability, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

•    Administer Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across dev/test/prod.
•    Perform performance tuning (SQL, indexes, execution plans, DB parameters).
•    Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery readiness.
•    Execute DB patching, upgrades, migrations, and schema changes.
•    Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
•    Implement database security, user access control, and audit compliance.
•    Collaborate with application teams on data design and query optimization.
•    Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.

Processes
•    The selected resource will support production and non-production Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
•    The role involves daily monitoring, performance tuning, backup/recovery, patching, and issue resolution.
•    The selected resource must coordinate with developers and ensure that all required bank processes are followed before executing scripts in both production and non-production environments.
•    The candidate should be available for on-call support and production troubleshooting if required.
•    Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Skills and Experience

•    Oracle Database Administration

•    SQL / PL/SQL

Mandatory Skills
•    Strong hands-on Oracle DBA experience in 19c and above (21c/23ai preferred).
•    Strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience (v12+ preferred).
•    Advanced SQL skills and strong troubleshooting in production environments.
•    Expertise in backup/restore, replication, and high availability setups.
•    Linux and shell scripting knowledge.

Good to Have
•    Cloud DB exposure (AWS RDS/Aurora/EC2, OCI, Azure).
•    Monitoring tools (OEM, pgAdmin/Prometheus/Grafana, etc.).
•    Automation and database release/migration tooling experience.

Qualifications

•    Education: BE / MCA / MSC / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent.
•    Certifications: Oracle Database Administration certification, PostgreSQL certification, or relevant cloud database certification is an added advantage
