We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Risk and Controls Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing design of controls and finding opportunities to automate control execution, control testing and assurance activities. 

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of risk management and controls frameworks and practices.
•    Strong background in Risk and Controls, relating to Technology, Cyber Security, Data, Third-Party, Resilience, Operations 
•    Knowledge on automation, AI and machine learning
•    Experience with Audit would be beneficial

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    Responsible for delivering the book of work for controls automation across Technology and Operations (T&O). 
•    Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of the workshops across different processes within T&O, ensuring alignment across the various Stakeholder Groups on control automation initiatives.
•    Responsible for developing and delivering any internal and external progress reporting requirements
•    Ability to influence and build relationships with a wide range of senior stakeholders to deliver against the strategies and processes within T&O.
•    A leader in communication, planning and execution with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Business
•    Have the knowledge and confidence to apply critical thinking to make the necessary decisions to progress and at the same time, understand the limits of his/her responsibility and expertise and know when to solicit decisions from other members of the team.
•    Liaise with process and control owners across Technology & Operations regarding controls automation and testing.
•    Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to enhance risk management efforts. 

Processes
•    Review control design and recommend ways to automate and make the controls effective
•    Facilitate workshops with process and control owners on control re-design
•    Track progress and updates on the control automation progress to key stakeholders and forum

People & Talent
•    Always have an eye for Process Improvements and Innovations with an objective to ‘Simplify’, while still maintaining the value delivered.
•    Ensure a cohesive team approach that supports the broader T&O control automation agenda to build for the long-term

Risk Mitigation and Controls
•    Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
•    Ensure the effectiveness of risk controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
•    Collaborate with various departments to integrate risk management practices into business processes.
•    Normalise disparate approvals processes to speed up delivery without increasing the risk.

Governance
•    Build, manage and maintain relationships with global and regional teams across the bank across the relevant first, second and third line of defence.
•    Assess controls, control assurance and testing and metrics reporting on Technology and Operations related controls.
•    Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. •    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualifications

Education     

•    Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Risk Management or equivalent required

Training     

•    Good understanding and working knowledge of ITIL (ITIL Foundation desired)
•    Good understanding of compliance requirement meeting regulatory needs.
Certifications     •    BCP or DR certifications 
•    ITIL Foundation / Intermediate
•    CISA, CRISC

Languages     

•    English

Others    

•    Strong working knowledge of Technology, Cyber Security, Data, Resilience processes, risks and controls 
•    Ability to collaborate with teams across the firm to leverage previous experiences, utilities, and shared capabilities.
•    Able to contribute to overall governance process to provide suggestion in terms of automation and lean working process.
•    Knowledgeable about best practices, industry standards, open-source, and emerging trends
•    Excellent collaborator with ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders across the Bank
