The position is for a Senior Manager, Development discharge activities in the areas of Application Development, to Release Management ie end to end from Requirement to DevOps as primary KRA and Delivery management as secondary KRA
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Delivery
• Own end‑to‑end SDLC delivery for SeCCuRE components on TCS BANCS using Java and Oracle.
• Deliver enhancements, fixes, and change requests using Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog, code, pipelines, and traceability.
• Ensure quality, secure, and resilient code through design reviews, unit testing, and adherence to SCB engineering standards.
• Manage in‑house and vendor deliveries, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality commitments are met.
DevOps, Release & Environment Management
• Manage build, deployment, and release processes using ADO pipelines, CI/CD, and automation
• Oversee application deployments on RHEL/Linux environments, including coordination with middleware, database, and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure SCM and release governance, including versioning, rollback readiness, and production sign‑offs.
• Support environment readiness across SIT, UAT, UVT, and Production.
Production Support & Stability
• Proactively identify and resolve application, environment, and performance issues.
• Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) and permanent fix implementation for incidents and defects.
• Ensure service stability aligned to Custody business criticality and regulatory expectations.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to SCB policies, risk controls, audit, and regulatory requirements for Custody platforms.
• Support TPSA / SIA / audit evidence relating to application controls, DevOps, and releases.

Collaboration & Leadership
• Work closely with Business, Product Owners, Testing, Release, Infrastructure, Security, and Vendors.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to developers and junior managers.
• Act as a key contributor in program‑level forums (e.g., SeCCuRE governance, release readiness).
Responsibilities would also include
• Software development and deliveries (Vendor) from requirement ADO DevOps
• Involving all stakeholder teams to validate & deploy code in test and production
• Taking care of the software configuration management SCM of software releases
• Monitor and support environments including Network, JBOSS, Tomcat, Oracle DB and OS
• Pro-active identification and resolution of issues (environment, application).
• Ensure the process is adhered to at every stage.
• Handle infrastructure needs of test environments.
• Support automation initiatives by developing scripts
• Pro-actively identify and develop tools as needed for the job
• Keep teams informed of right status on calls and ADOs

• Consistently deliver against defined KRAs and KPIs across Development, Delivery, and Release Management, ensuring outcomes are aligned to SeCCuRE and broader SCB technology strategy.

• Prioritise and deliver business‑critical asks with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and customer focus, ensuring commitments are met without compromising quality or controls
Processes
• Ensure 100% adherence to SC policies, including Software Change (SC) and E‑SDLC processes, with high standards of documentation, traceability, and audit readiness

• Operate as a strong team player, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a “Better Together” culture while supporting team capability and collective success.
Risk Management
• Maintain a proactive stance on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, addressing potential issues early and preventing them from materialising, rather than relying on corrective actions.

• Ensure full alignment to Standard Chartered governance standards, frameworks, and control expectations, embedding governance rigor into day‑to‑day delivery and decision‑making.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 8–15 years of experience in application development and delivery within enterprise banking systems.
• Prior experience in Custody or Capital Markets technology will be an added advantage
Skills and Experience
Mandatory
• Strong hands‑on experience in Java application development with Oracle Database.
• Advanced level knowledge on database SQLs.
• Solid experience with Linux / RHEL environments.
• Exposure to Ansible / Jenkins / GitHub and automation tooling.
• Azure DevOps (ADO) – backlog management, pipelines, release tracking.
• Shell scripting for automation and operational support.
• Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD concepts.
Good to Have
• Experience with middleware such as JBOSS, Tomcat, MQ
• Knowledge on other script language (perl, python)
• Knowledge of Custody / Securities Services domain and TCS BANCS architecture.
• Exposure to batch processing, interfaces, and regulatory change deliveries.
Skill sets would also include
• Exposure of Dot Net with MS SQL knowledge is good to have.
• Working experience in Window with SQL
• Rundeck and ADO Pipeline with Anisble
• Powershell for windows
