Title: Senior Manager - Capital
Chennai, IN
Job Summary
Job Summary
As a Senior Manager - Capital at Standard Chartered Bank, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the regulatory reporting function, ensuring adherence to complex regulatory requirements while enhancing transparency and insight across all capital metrics submitted to our senior stakeholders. This senior role requires collaboration across multiple teams — including Group, Country, Business, and Change — to sharpen the accuracy of reporting, drive capital optimisation initiatives, and improve the Group's Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE).
The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Basel regulatory framework (spanning Basel II, III, and IV) and strong expertise in capital metrics computation and methodologies. An essential part of the role involves linking banking products to risk-weighted assets and regulatory reporting, leveraging data expertise with tools like SQL, and ideally supplementing this with knowledge of Moody's reporting platforms, SAS, or Python.
In this capacity, you will ensure operational excellence by monitoring the completeness and accuracy of reports through robust Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive a culture of continuous process improvement through standardisation, simplification, and automation. Managing governance and compliance with regulatory expectations, including BCBS 239 and PRA data management standards, will be critical.
Equally, the role demands strong leadership and communication skills to interface effectively with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Business, providing expert consultation on capital metrics and regulatory reporting. As a key representative at governance forums, you will play an influential role in shaping decision-making regarding change initiatives, technology implementation, and operational modelling.
This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to collaborate with diverse teams, spearhead transformational projects, and contribute meaningfully to the bank's capital management and regulatory compliance objectives.
