Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary individual to join our Data/ Analytics/ Performance Management team. This pivotal role is designed to be at the heart of our ongoing transformation journey, specifically focusing on leveraging data, advanced analytics, and process optimization to elevate our operational efficiency and effectiveness. The successful candidate will not only drive strategic improvements but also foster a data-first mindset within our teams, directly impacting our ability to deliver superior banking services and achieve significant operational milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

•    Spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive data strategy for operations functions, identifying and prioritizing key analytical initiatives that drive tangible business outcomes (e.g., cost reduction, increased profitability, reduced error rates).

Business
•    Operational Excellence & Process Transformation: Drive a culture of continuous improvement across functions by identifying process bottlenecks, redundant activities, and areas ripe for automation. Lead end-to-end process re-engineering efforts, from current state analysis to future state design and implementation.
•    Champion and manage significant transformation projects, leveraging lean principles, automation technologies, and innovative solutions to enhance operational agility, reduce processing times, and improve service delivery.

Processes
•    Banking Domain Expertise & Application: Apply profound understanding of diverse banking operations (e.g., Payments & Remittances, Trade Finance Operations, Account Services, KYC/AML Operations, Reconciliations, Loan Servicing, Treasury Back Office) to contextualize data, interpret analytical findings, and design industry-leading solutions.
•    Business & Technical Translation: Act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders (Product Owners, Operations Heads) and technical teams, translating complex business challenges and strategic objectives into clear, concise, and actionable functional and technical requirements. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with strategic goals.
   ETL & Data Visualization Proficiency: Leverage a strong theoretical and practical understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility for analytical purposes. Design, develop, and maintain dynamic and insightful dashboards and reports using industry-leading visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, MSTR) to enable real-time performance monitoring and strategic decision-making.
•    Advanced Excel & Data Manipulation: Serve as a subject matter expert in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, scenario analysis, and VBA scripting for automation and large-scale data manipulation. Develop sophisticated Excel-based tools and models for operational analysis and reporting.
•    Stakeholder Management & Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels. Effectively present complex analytical findings, project updates, and strategic recommendations to senior management and diverse audiences, driving consensus and gaining buy-in for initiatives.

People & Talent
•    Guidance & Support: Provide guidance and support to junior team members on data analysis best practices, operational methodologies, and the effective use of analytical tools.
Risk Management
•    Identify risks and develop solutions related to data governance. Implement necessary risk mitigation strategies to prevent breaches

Governance

•    Ensure that the colleagues adhere to regulatory requirements, Country POIs and all Standard Chartered processes and policies

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CFA) would be a significant advantage.
