Job Summary

•    Drive Standard Chartered ’s Technology strategy through leadership of the engineering teams that develop and maintain our Intra Day Liquidity platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Lead the data sourcing, modelling, and analysis efforts to support reporting, risk, and P&L calculations for products including Treasury Securities, Bonds, Equity, Assets & Liabilities, and P&L.
•    Translate complex business requirements for Market Risk Limits and Utilization, RWA, IM (Initial Margin) Posting, and Cashflow Hedge MI into clear Data Requirements, Data Flows, and Logical Data Models.
•    Drive end-to-end data solutioning, focusing on data ingestion, transformation, quality checks, and aggregation necessary for accurate analytics and reporting.
•    Collaborate extensively with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Quants to design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines and analytical models.
•    Identify opportunities to enhance data quality, lineage, and governance to improve the reliability of MI (Management Information) and regulatory reports.
Business
•    Deep understanding of the data attributes and lifecycle for Treasury Securities, Bonds, and Equity products, including market data (pricing, yield curves) and static data.
•    Expertise in the data requirements for Market Risk Limits/Utilization and the associated risk metrics (e.g., VaR, Stress Testing).
•    Solid knowledge of the underlying data needed for Cashflow Hedge MI (Hedge effectiveness, designation/dedesignation data) and IM Posting (exposure, collateral, margin calculations).
•    Understanding of the data and calculations related to RWA and other regulatory capital frameworks.
•    Familiarity with financial accounting concepts to ensure the accuracy of P&L (Profit & Loss) and Assets & Liabilities data reporting and reconciliation.
Processes
•    Create and manage detailed data mapping documents, data dictionaries, and transformation rules between upstream sources and the target analytical platform/data mart.
•    Define data quality rules and validation criteria for critical data elements across all Treasury and Risk initiatives.
•    Support the testing lifecycle, focusing on UAT and data-specific reconciliation testing to ensure the accuracy of analytics and reports.
•    Align to the firm’s data governance and software delivery frameworks.

People and Talent 
•    Act as a subject matter expert on financial product data and its analytical use, guiding development teams and advising business stakeholders.
Risk Management
•    Ensure the integrity and completeness of data used for regulatory reporting (RWA, Market Risk) and critical MI (Cashflow Hedge MI, P&L).
Governance 
•    Establish strong data governance practices within the delivery scope, ensuring clear data lineage and auditability. 
Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Other Responsibilities
•    5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in financial services, specializing in data-intensive projects within Treasury, Market Risk, or Finance Technology.
•    Mandatory proven experience in defining data requirements, data models (conceptual, logical), and data flow diagrams.
•    Mandatory strong SQL proficiency for data profiling, analysis, reconciliation, and validation.
•    Deep product knowledge spanning Treasury Securities, Bonds, Equity, and complex derivatives (as they relate to IM/Hedge Accounting).
•    Strong understanding of data needs for at least two of the following: Market Risk Limits, RWA calculation, Initial Margin, or P&L/Balance Sheet (Assets & Liabilities) reporting.
•    Experience working with large-scale data platforms (e.g., Data Lake, Hive, Hana DB) and ETL/ELT processes, and analytics and reporting platforms (Dataiku, SAC). 
•    Familiarity with data governance tools and concepts (data lineage, metadata management).
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data concepts to both business users and technical teams.
•    Experience working in an Agile data delivery environment.
